Big Beetle, tiny shell (too small for a bird) and a bit of a cicada shell (& a bee).
Macro Mondays: Natural Shells
“Every year, back comes Spring, with nasty little birds yapping their fool heads off and the ground all mucked up with plants.”
~ Dorothy Parker
See Spring Larger
Naturally I had to visit Iceland's most famous hot spring, which contains Geysir, which has given its name to geysers all over the world. Unfortunately the original Great Geysir is currently rarely active these days, but there is a smaller geyser nearby that spouts every ten minutes or so. The name Geysir is derived from the Icelandic verb geysa, "to gush", a verb from Old Norse. I parked at the hotel and walked across the street to find a field of sunny wildflowers at the edge of the steamy hot spring area.

Gotta love the Apllalachian Mountains
The naturally occurring joints in these rocks at Pirates Bay, Tasmania, give the impression of a tessellated pavement.

denoting or characterized by a pattern of repeated shapes, especially polygons, that fit together closely without gaps or overlaps.
"a tessellated pavement"
Je ne joue pas un rôle.
Pas là pour plaire, pas là pour rentrer dans les cases.
Je vis à ma façon, brut, libre, entier.
Le reste ?
Je le laisse au vent.

I’m not playing a role.
Not here to please, not here to fit the mold.
I live my way — raw, free, unapologetically real.
The rest?
I let the wind take it.

These succulent flowers grow in a neighbour's garden - I have no idea what they are, but I do know that Fibonacci would be proud of them!

They say in jest that: " "Beauty is something that your eyes won't see but your heart can feel".
And they also say: "It is a defense of the ugly".
Dunno which is right then as it confuses my little mind.

The storm was advancing and it already covered almost everything around us, it was not seen much. Suddenly we saw how the Pomerape Volcano showed itself timidly, with rays of light that painted it with a rich light. We stopped and, in the middle of a strong wind, we were able to capture this gift, Moment of light, Moments of life.

“Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland
201 Waiotapu Loop Rd, RD3, Reporoa, New Zealand.
New Zealand's most colourful geothermal attraction - just a short drive from either Rotorua or Taupo. An area in which the landscape has been sculptured by geothermal activity and where unique volcanic features can be viewed from well defined tracks.
Named as "One of the 20 Most Surreal Places in the World" Thousands of years in the making, visitors can choose one or all of three walks which take between 45 and 90 minutes. Unique features include the world famous Champagne Pool naturally coloured springs, bubbling mud, steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters and sinter terrace formations. The natural bush setting adds another dimension to the experience as does the Lady Knox Geyser which erupts daily at 10.15 am to heights of up to 20 meters. The modern Visitor Centre has a wide range of New Zealand souvenirs and a cafe which has internal and external dining areas. Self-guided tour.”
