A new addition to Becky's potted plants. They open and close daily and the blooms are very long-lasting. This shot is the closed position...my favorite.
I've been out of touch lately, because of the Flickr overhaul, but things seem to be back to normal this morning. I hope it lasts!

I took a walk at the beach today. The wind had formed wave patterns in the slightly wet sand. I was searching for some disturbances created by some beach artifacts like shelves and pieces of wood. After some time of searching I found this artifact that looked like a caterpillar crawling in the sand that created an obstacle for the wind, disturbing the regular wave pattern. I choose to go for a black and white picture with high contrast to emphasize the graphic nature of the pattern. Taken with my smartphone.

A close-up view of a budding flower captures the quiet anticipation of spring. The intricate textures and vivid green-purple hues highlight the delicate beauty of new growth just before it bursts into bloom.
Our poor Sago Palm gets hit with at least one deep freeze every year, causing it to have to start from a complete reboot each Spring. I'm amazed that it still lives.
