So glad that I explored more around this bridge as sunset was approaching. Catching the pool of water in the otherwise dry river bed was a great find, and worth the effort to figure out how to get into the creek for this point of view back to the bridge.
In remembrance of the Unknown Soldier
Dan Barton has created and installed 101 6ft tall Armistice day Soldier Silhouettes to Commemorate the end of WW1 and 75 poppy wreathes to commemorate the end of WW2 at The Aston Rowant Nature Reserve. The Natural England Reserve can be found on the hillside at Stokenchurch, Oxfordshire above the M40 Motorway.
Dan hopes to raise funds for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and has set up a Just Giving Page.
Dan hopes this installation will provoke thought as people drive along the M40 motorway to remind us to enjoy the freedom we have and to teach our younger generations to treasure and cherish their freedom and to live well. Dan believes that all that we have in this moment is possible because of those that have come before us.

Natural bridge with the natural mountains in the background. The wedding party fell over the falls on their last shot giving me a clear view.

George Washington carved his name in this Natural Bridge near the base to the left side of this image and up about 20-30 feet.
A lovely find when walking along the main street in Malmö. These flowers are so pretty in Summer time and because of the warm "Fall" this one was still standing strong. A rare and gorgeous curved flower to witness outdoors in November.

I saw this on the side of my friend's house and it looked like an ice sculpture!
Mid-morning sunlight bouncing off a white wall and through a glass lanai door. There is a hint of Rembrandt...
From the scientific Point of view, the " trovanti" are clusters of pebbles, wich are cemented togheter thanks to a calcium carbonat.
When I was a senior in high school I had the good fortune to live in a remote river valley; one of my classes was called Earth Science - our teacher pointed out the large picture windows at the young mountains (Coast Range) and quoted a Nat Geo article: British Columbia is a beautiful place to live, if only it weren't about to fall down at any moment.
The witty NG scientist was absolutely right...our dense forests and variety of mountain ranges are very young. Welcome to life on a living planet. :-)
