Hiking up the Virgin River in Zion National Park. Though it looks safe here on some days in the water can get up to your waist or even higher in some places so if you ever plan to hike here a waterproof gear bag is an absolute necessity and flash floods ten-fifteen feet high have drowned people here.

The power of cropping is illustrated in this segment of the previously posted image. I need to always remember that cropping of an image can focus a viewer and strenghten composition.

Easy to find a narrow passageway in old town Dubrovnik. Traveled light with no tripod and no desire to turn my wife's much needed vacation into my photo expedition so I mostly shot quickly while doing something else.

GOOL-PERAN-LOWEN !!

This is the B3289 , the road leading on from Trelissick Gardens and ending up at the King Harry Ferry before carrying on over on the Roseland Peninsula once across the River Fal .

The bridge connects Trelissick Gardens to the orchard and some other sections of the Gardens . As can be seen it is very restricted in size , there are some houses beyond the bridge plus the Ferry landing , the height is the minimum for a fire engine but not sure if it would be enough in width for one . I guess they would know and have it covered somehow .

I did enjoy of an evening a wander down this road to the KHF landing and watching the other craft on the water there - memories , memories !!

Not sure if flickr is a bit iffy today , the map would not load to start with and the Camera and exif details are not showing either !!

The end of a cold day out in the Yorkshire Dales and what a sight well after the sun went down.

This was certainly not a planned shot!! I had spent the morning over on the Southerscales plateau beneath Ingleborough before joining up with fellow Flickr pal John Bleakley in Arncliffe. We had planned to try a sunset shot from up above the village on Brayshaw Scar looking up the Cowside Valley.

The sunset turned out to be rather unremarkable and we packed up and made our way back down to the cars. As we arrived back in Arncliffe Village the sky suddenly started to go on fire.

I said goodbye to JB then set off up the narrow lane up Cowside heading back home over the Moors past Malham Tarn. On the way up Cowside I spotted this scene and stopped quickly to catch the fabulous sky. The only pull in on the narrow lane was here just before the Barn, so I had to clone my car out of the shot in post processing.

It was another case of the afterglow turning out to be far better than the actual sunset!
