Two more views of this beautiful park in Northern California. Unfortunately, it has been ravaged by the Dixie fire since shortly after we were there. The area around Summit Lake (below) is still closed to visitors but other areas are now open.

BNSF 8893 takes L-MON2021 under the former Northern Pacific cantilever at east end Big Timber, with a short train for Bozeman.
. . . On our best day of winter weather, we paused to look south back on West Thumb Geyser Basin and the ice covered Yellowstone Lake.
We were so fortunate this road was still open to get to the Grand Canyon! I would imagine the steam is trapped by cooler air above here (although it was -5 F (-20 C) at ground level).

The Northern Pacific Railway built this brick and sandstone depot for passengers, freight, and mail in the town of Ellensburg, Washington.
Completed in 1910, the structure served as a primary point of entry into the Kittitas Valley area until 1981, when Amtrak's North Coast Hiawatha departed for the last time.

When Captain George Vancouver explored the region in 1794, the bay was almost completely filled with ice from the glaciers. Several kilometers wide, over 1000 m high.

This smaller geyser sprung up when we waiting for Old Faithful. There are several other geysers other than Old Faithful here. I believe this one is called Beehive Geyser because of it's shape.

Looking forward. Its funny how you can made many photos from boot like this. This was empty. I could newer ask my younger son Joel to stand so long still. Because hi is just turn 2 years old 12 of Oktober. And when you are so young you dont stand still for longer than 2 seconds. Holy water in Mission Espada which is part of the Mission Trail National Park in San Antonio, Texas. It was relocated here in 1731 from east Texas where it was established in 1690.San Antonio Missions Trail is five missions connected by the San Antonio River. The trail is The San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. The 15 mile trail consists of bike, jogging and hiking paths with about 2 1/2 miles between each mission. Mission Concepcion is just one of the five missions. It was completed in 1731 and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark as are the other missions located on the trail. The Mission Alamo is also on this trail. The missions on this trail are a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The five missions on the trail are Mission Concepcion, San Antonio de Valero ((Alamo), San Jose, San Francisco de la Espada, and San Juan. They were built by Spanish Colonial residents.
