North Saskatchewan River viewed from the Siffleur Falls Trail in the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve off of Highway 11 (David Thompson Highway) in Bighorn Backcountry Alberta Canada
North Butte Mountain along the Gila River. East of Florence Arizona. Taken with a Samsung 21S Ultra Cell Phone. Amazing for a cell phone.
A snow squall in the mountains with a break in the clouds with a spot of sun light shinning through.
This is a shot of North Lake, in the Eastern Sierras. It makes me want to get back there. It is full of lakes and forest, small towns and wonderful hikes. I've explored Highway 395 and side roads from Lee Vining to the north to Lone Pine to the south. The east side of the Sierras rise precipitously from relatively flat land and are breathtaking. North Lake is off one of the side roads that runs west from Bishop, one of my favorite towns. I once had a filling pop out when I was there in my van and had a hard time finding one of several dentists willing to see a new patient. When I finally found one, and a great one at that, he said everyone lived there for the outdoors and not to grow their practice, him included. We hit it off and but it's a little too far for me to go for dental work. Too bad.

Los Angeles has quite a few historic concrete bridges spanning the Los Angeles River. I photographed this scene on 02-22-20, a few hours before it started raining.
From the Los Angeles Conservancy Website: : "Originally named the Buena Vista Viaduct, the North Broadway Bridge was the first major monumental Beaux Arts bridge constructed by the City of Los Angeles. When completed in 1911, it was the longest and widest concrete arch bridge in California, spanning 968 feet in total."
My first visit to this location. The headland presented a good opportunity with the full moon setting behind.

The North Coast of Madeira is synonymous with raw, untouched beauty. The landscape is dramatic, with steep cliffs plunging into the Atlantic Ocean.

This view only available from a carriage on the Llangollen heritage railway.
Like the northern lights I completely missed out on the rare appearance of snow down here this week. North Dorset, Wiltshire and even Weston got a dumping but nothing whatsoever on the South Coast.
Still what can beat seeing snow covered mountains? Taken handheld with my 200mm lens which has been repaired (after I slipped on ice and dropped it). I was £500 lighter but I'm getting it back through my home insurance and it's like a new lens. Result!
I bet North Wales is even more beautiful this week but its maybe unlikely I'd be able to get around.
Have a lovely weekend x
A pair of SD75Is lead an empty autorack train south through North Holly on CN's Holly Subdivision bound for Flat Rock, Michigan.
Love them or hate them, windmills generating electricity are here to stay and are part of the green energy future for areas where they make sense like the windy point of North Cape of PEI that has very few days that are not windy. Besides harvesting wind energy on the North Cape they also harvest Irish Moss during the summer month, Irish moss is a sea algae that is dried and made commercially into a dairy thickener for products like ice cream. The mills you see in this shot are part of WEICan Canada's R&D facility for harsh environment wind testing, with the North Cape providing salt spray, extreme cold and high winds; ideal for the testing of turbines designed for isolated areas.
I took this on Sept 12, 2022 with my D850 and Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 Lens at 24mm, 1/60s, f11 ISO 64 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia ,Topaz, and DXO Nik

North Stack is the site of a maritime retired fog warning station. Built in 1857 for Trinity House as the headland at North Stack and the Island of South Stack (Ynys Lawd) protruded out and was so dangerous.

With the sun setting fast on this freezing February day 56124 gives us the full glint treatment as she runs off the North Staffs line at North Staffs Jnc with the 1530 Pinnox Sidings to Chaddeston empty stone train.
I have been messing with this shot for a few days trying to find the best way to present it. A black and white version was looking favourite until I decided to crop the sky out which was a bit bland. The dead space worked really well and shows the glint off to the max....I think.
North American Elk (Cervus canadensis) or "Wapiti" bull stretches to get that hard to reach itch on its backside. This bull spent several minutes in this activity along the main highway in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.
