"The last unknown place in New York City”
Another Ozarks treasure! North Star School is a Greene County Historical Site. The school, established in 1881, is in good shape and located in the nearby town of Strafford, Missouri.
Very similar to the Sulawesi pitta, it is, however, a distinct species found only in the North Moluccas.

I took a ride this afternoon to charge my car battery and ended up on North Bank Road, between Roseburg and Glide, Oregon. This is the North Umpqua River.
This is a car journey I often make, just for enjoyment. It isn’t on a direct route to anywhere I need to go. However, it is on the spectacularly beautiful North Norfolk coastline and hence a rice source of photographic opportunities. The routine is that i see something I like, my partner parks the car and I disappear into the moment and the distance with my phone or camera. In this photograph I’ve enhanced the depth of colour for Sliders Sunday

Hot and sunny autumn day at North Table Mountain Park near Golden, Colorado.
There were huge ruts in the narrow, unpaved access road. I'm glad I wasn't driving : )

Just getting in a little playtime with the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sometimes, I just gotta.
North American Elk (Cervus canadensis) bull resting and regaining his energy reserves after a hectic "rut" season with his herd of cows in the mixed woods of Jasper National Park near the town of Jasper, Alberta, Canada.
This bull must have had some very strenuous battles from the number of broken tines it is sporting on its antler rack.

It was December 29th when I last went that way. I must return for a picnic by the stream now that spring is sprung and summer is just around the corner
Making its way across the rough lawn of a cottage on North Uist. I was clearing out some old folders and as always found some images that I hadn't paid too much attention and decided I liked them.
An image that gives the impression of being crooked but it ain't!

Union Pacific Rio Grande heritage SD70ACe No. 1989 leads an eastbound Operation Lifesaver special east of Payne on Colorado’s North Fork Subdivision on June 14, 2009. Behind 1989 is UP E9B No. 963B, and on the other end is GE AC4400CW No. 7250 used as lead locomotive on westbound trips on the branch.
The Northern boundary of the West Midlands, looking North.
In the spring and summer of this year I walked around the Outer circle bus route (in around eight sections), with the aim of exploring some of the more distant regions of the large urban area I call home. The problem is, what was the outer circle of the West Midlands when the bus service first ran in 1923 is very much not the outer boundary of the West Midlands in 2022; the bus route is now probably on average only around half of the distance between the actual outer limits of the urban area and the centre of Birmingham.
So over the last week, on four days, I visited locations that are approximately at the North, East, South and West boundaries of the West Midlands conurbation (which is not the same as the West Midlands County). I walked for about two hours around each area, and also have many images from locations further within the urban area, a few of which I have already shared and some more of which I will share over the coming weeks.
This small series of four images that I made at each boundary, looking out of the urban area, are more oriented to documentary (topography?) than aesthetics, but I wanted to share them nonetheless.
I will add to this series, with visits to the NW, NE, SW and SE boundaries of the West Midlands Conurbation, though perhaps not all in the immediate future.
