Going Dutch in Dublin, the Royal Netherlands Navy HNLMS Rotterdam fills the night sky of Dublin's River Liffey while on a courtesy visit to the city.
Rotterdam is the first navy visit since Covid-19 restrictions in March 2020, another sign of times returning to normal.
Arriving on Saturday 2nd October, berthing at Cruise 18 beside the East Link toll bridge, at 166 meters, it provided great photo opportunities of this gigantic Landing Platform Dock (LPD) amphibious warfare ship, its two landing craft were on display alongside. The ship also features a large helicopter deck & internal hangar.

French cruise line company Compagnie du Ponant presents Le Boreal, seen above docked on Dublin's River Liffey, some nice reflections & night lighting over a very calm evening.
Le vie est belle, especially on Le Boreal, with just 132 cabins and suites for 264 passengers and 140 crew members.

On a sleepy bank holiday monday morning, just before 10 am, the Dublin Port tug "Beaufort" assists HMS Brocklesby off her berth on Sir John Rogersons Quay & down the River Liffey.
HMS Brocklesby, a Hunt-class mine counter-measures vessel of the British Royal Navy on a courtesy visit to Dublin over the weekend.
Brocklesby is the first naval visitor to Dublin in 2023 & one of the few since covid restrictions since 2020. She is celebrating 40 years in service, her primary purpose is to seek out and neutralise enemy mines using sonar technology, currently under the command of Lieutenant Commander Matthew Teare.
Arriving on Friday 3rd & departing on Monday 6th, which is a new public holiday in Ireland, celebrating Saint Brigid.

The Last Bus Home on Christmas Eve is a 360 degree projection mapping artwork located in the heart of Smithfield Square.
A light show full of colour and energy, taking a trip to the abstract, and paying homage to those who stand in hope of the last bus home on Christmas Eve, created by Alfredo Espeche.
Part of Dublin's winter lights 2022 using light projections around the City Centre during the Christmas festival.

Hardest act to photograph, mbv play in almost total darkness iluminated only by the ocasional strobe flash.
I was even trying to lead a mass protest by the rest of the photographers to start using flash!
mbv who were curating the All Tomorrow’s Parties Nightmare Before Christmas put together a near perfect line-up.
And how were they?
I was there.
I was there.
During a ten minute period around ‘Soon’, it felt like the roof lifted clean of my skull and I started levitating.
The memory will live me for a long time.
As probably will the tinnitus.

Dublin's River Liffey & despite the partying down the Three Arena & other way towards Dublin City Centre, its all calm by the Convention Centre, green ringed for the night that's in it.
Taken in the loading area for HMH! I looked over and saw the line of lights and thought this would look nice :) Didn't turn out as bright as I would have liked, but I do like how crisp I was able to get the lights! :) Enjoy!

The actual miniatures from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" movie. We went to the 1993 world premier at the El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Blv and they had some of the sets and "stop Motion" animation figures on public display. The miniature "sets" split apart several different ways to be lit and filmed from many directions.
She's a character from Tim Burtons's "Nightmare Before Christmas" which was this year's Halloween theme at Roger's Gardens.
Same as many of the others today... Would have been happier with this being brighter, but still am pleased with it for a first try!
