K-4002 with a unique emblem on the tail. A fighter jet with a walking stick and 'VUD', meaning Vervroegde Uit Dienststelling: early retirement.
After retirement many Dutch NF-5's were flown to Woensdrecht airbase and put in storage. When the last Northrops were withdrawn from service in 1991, most of these went to Greece or Turkey. K-4002 however went to Venezuela.
On this day in 1988 the base organized a photo opportunity for the jets.

Many Dutch NF-5's were delivered to Turkey and Greece after the KLu retired them in 1991. K-4011 escaped and is now at Soesterberg.
The National Military Museum at former Soesterberg airbase has many aircraft in storage. The museum is not large enough to show them all. Once a year some of the hidden gems are towed to the platform outside the museum.
