I lugged this giant 2006 Samsung DLP TV upstairs to my bedroom and set it up on a wooden stand. It essentialy a giant monitor for my 2014 Mac Mini, which in turn is my media playback device. I had the weirdest issue with my 2014 Mini and my much more modern LCD TV. When the Mini went to sleep and I attempted to wake it back up, it would NOT restore HDMI signal to the TV. I did some Googling and this is apparently a know issue and Apple is uninterested in fixing it. Fortunately, the 2006 Samsung gives zero fucks and works just fine. It's image quality isn't great for text, but video content looks really good.
The same setup with the lights on.

Here are some guidelines on choosing the best gaming router for Xbox 360 Live.
1. Xbox 360 Live is compatible with all four types of 802.11 wireless connectivity standards, which include 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n. Keep in mind, however, that you need to choose a router that also matches your Internet connection. 802.11a routers are for connections that use the 5GHz frequency, while 802.11b and 802.11g both use the 2.4GHz frequency. 802.11n routers, on the other hand, can support both frequencies. For purposes of online gaming and connecting to Xbox 360 Live, an 802.11n router is more advisable so you have up to 23 different channels to choose from.
2. Choose a simultaneous dual band router. Even though 802.11n dual band routers can use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, they cannot use both at the same time. If you wish to use both to dedicate one frequency to your Xbox 360 Live gaming and another frequency to other Internet usages, look for a router labeled as “simultaneous dual band”.
3. Choose a router based on the layout of the room you are playing Xbox Live 360 in. If, for some reason, you cannot buy an 802.11n router, you can either choose to use the 2.4GHz or the 5GHz frequencies. The 5GHz frequency offers up to 20 channels to choose from, but signals are easily compromised when there are a lot of walls and obstructions around. The 2.4GHz has only 3 channels that you can choose from, but you will get more guaranteed signal as this frequency isn’t easily affected by
The is the current setup of my basement recording setup, complete with brand spanking new MXL USB.006 microphone. The Behringer mixer, M-Audio MobilePre, Apex mic and boom stand are all on loan, so I picked up the MXL mic to replace all that equipment for about 1/5 the price.

This is one server rack from my work, on the day that our switches decided to stop working. The yellow wires are for internet, the pink ones are for the phone system. We had three 3com switches that two of them stoped working, so you can see I had to re patch some wires into a temp stand alone Netgear switch on top of the server cabinet.
The switches have since been replaced by Cisco ones but the wires still look just as messy.
