I grow my zinnias from seed every year and this year they are short in stature, long in color! I hope you enjoy these two samples!
A quaint A-frame cabin nestled among tall pine trees stands against a cloudy sky. The surrounding foliage showcases vibrant autumn colors, creating a serene and picturesque scene from Paradise, Mount Rainier.

I managed to get down to Porth Nanven for a couple of hours last night, and it was great to be out. We had one of those fiery sunsets too, which mas special, but I preferred the golden glow that came before it. A magical evening only slightly spoiled but the 'photographers' who brought their springer spaniel and let it loose across the pristine beach! SIgh....

Another from the garden, yesterday evening. I think this is the remains of a lavender flower / seed head.

Looking across wetlands to Point No Point Lighthouse keepers quarters nestled in trees. Shot with the IR converted Sony NEX5.
Cradled by the mountains, Ouray is snuggled in by the starry night. A very small town, with little to no light population; the milky way watches over like a guardian angel.
This shot is made by two different images. The milky way image was actually shot behind the town of Ouray on the opposite side. The sky looked so plain in the background, and I felt it didn't emphasis Ouray's isolation enough. I took a long exposure of the town itself leaving room for the milky way to be PS'ed into the image. Then the swung my tripod 180 degrees and took a long exposure shot of the milky way. I took multiple shots of both locations so I had more photos to work with. Once this was done, I used PS to complete my desired effect.

In Singapur trifft Tradition auf Moderne: Tempel liegen eingebettet in Hochhausschluchten, Stararchitekten aus aller Welt lassen Alt und Neu verschmelzen.
In Singapore, tradition meets modernity: temples are nestled among high-rise buildings, and star architects from around the world blend old and new.
One of the jewels of the Costa del Sol is the beautiful little village of Mijas, which nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level ..
When you wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village, you can understand what has attracted foreigners to settle here over the years.
Many artists and writers have made it their home, enjoying the benefits of an excellent all year round climate, without being part of the busier, more commercial coastal towns just 7 kilometres down the mountain side.

My goal with this series is to explore every day scenes under the cover of darkness. A street corner, a lamp post, a doorway. Big city, small town, urban, rural. Man-made light versus nature’s darkness–––light and shadow interpreting minimalist settings in black and white. To see more in this series, check out Cover Of Darkness
Early on in the COVER OF DARKNESS series, I shot a couple gas stations. They were not initially the type scene I was looking to capture, but when I came across one late at night, bright and isolated in the darkness, it was impossible for me to resist, so I continue to shoot them. I have now shot enough that they have become a series-within-the-series. For a look at them as a collection, check out, Gas Stations

In Akaora with my Flickr and blip friend. February 22, 2016 Akaroa, New Zealand.
The day was cold and felt like rain but it didn't. We had a good look around Ōnuku.
This small church on the Onuku Maori reserve near Akaroa is the only tangible reminder of the once thriving Maori community. Completed in 1878 the church was planned to accommodate sixty people and though primarily for the Maori local, Pakeha settlers were also welcome.
A plain timber building with steeply pitched shingle roof its religious purpose is denoted by the tiny bell turret and surmounting crosses. It is picturesquely set in the bay on Akaroa Harbour and is enclosed by a delightfully unregimented picket fence.
Despite infrequent use the church is carefully maintained and is in excellent order. It is important as a memorial to the Onuku Maori and as the only Maori Church remaining on Banks Peninsula.
