You seem to be where I belong.
It's all illusion anyway.
If things should ever turn out wrong
And all the love we have is gone
It won't be easy on that day.
I don't get by without Neil. He sings this old favorite of mine right HERE.
You should listen. Really.
The shot's from a magical hoarfrost morning at our place, December 2010.

I had never caught a Kelp Crab until this day when I caught two...Pretty ugly, looking like a shield from a Batman movie...Didn't know if they were edible or a predator so they got tossed back...
Taken this morning (12.27.2019) on my way back to Calgary from my Christmas visit to Edmonton. I have photographed this beauty a couple of times, but this time I had a small weapon in my kit...a LEE soft grad filter .9 I think is what I used. That cuts out the sun and brings out the detail in the building. Worked quite well. I'm still getting used to using these filters, but I'm learning :)

My Wild River Reflection!
A gold tinsels wraps my Wild River and I let myself be charmed… docile as a child… amazed! The heart of gold of my Wild River desperately try to seduce me to each of my steps… she knows that I will have to abandon her for the winter! But it is not yet the time to leave… too early yet! She still seems to have secrets for me… under the branches! :)))

This old 1948-1950 F155 Dually sits in a field West of Strathmore. I has a big sign on the back of it so this was the best shot without the gawdy orange sign in it lol
But I think the green and the sky compliment the old truck.

I'm so depress + angry yesterday, when i realise one of the most essential folder in my computer lost!!! I still can't figure out why, but pretty sure it's been deleted. (by me?! when i'm sick? in my dream???) So i say goodbye to my portfolio, postcard artwork, digital drawing, web materials and and and i can't remember whatz inside now, arrrr! My mood is still recovering, so i want to think optimistically, that it's a good sign to make something new and creatively! here's a cut n paste art i made, can u find out which album the images from?! tell me about it, i'll be happier i guess.
Apart from music, live shows, art and movie, the Swiss Trip really changed my life ever since. 2-0-0-6 is a very special year for me, i start to realise life is short, how can we left all the most important things behind, i can only see endless working and entertainment, typical family + future + retirement planning among the people, i wanna shout to the ordinary life: HEY SUCK YOU! LEAVE ME ALONE!!! coz now i'm so excited and happy to know where i should go, even the place might not exist yet, i believe, it's not a dream anymore til the moment we get there. Thank you my little angel, for giving me the chance to see myself and to feel the massive love around me. It's never too late, don't afraid if i can't see it, come follow your heart like we used to do, dance and fly with me over the rainbow, there's sunshine after the darkness, then we'll still be able to laughing in the rain, let's pray together day by day... Finally i won't surprise if some people don't get what i'm saying, there's too much Kokdamon Dry Talking, wait and you may understand someday before year 2030, if you're still alive, Good Luck, Good Health in the coming 2007 Pig Year.

Stars were in the sky for this long exposure image and adds a bit to the overall look and feel of the image, IMHO. A few minutes after this shot with the stars, it clouded over and poured down rain for a few minutes.
Anyway, I like it and I prefer this angle of view of the building as it gives the viewer a better overall sense of what the building truly looks like... most images are taken head on and it then takes on the appearance of the famous pyramid in front of and a part of the Louvre, you know, the famous museum in Paris. ;-)

Heart of Gold is for the love that I have for the western plains of Canada and the United States, to these areas still inhabited by the spirit of the early pioneers and of the first indigenous inhabitants. It is also a tribute to the workers of the land and to those who, like Neil Young (to which I borrowed the title of the image, inspired by a song from Harvest) celebrated, in music or otherwise, their hard but simple and unpretensious way of life. This photo announcing the arrival of a thunderstorm on these vast plains, has been taken in Gravelbourg, a small francophone community in southern Sakatchewan.
And with Neil Young, The Heart of Gold and Harvest Moon....Enjoy

This was a Christmas present from my step-son. Every year I give him a word on which to base his gift. That year, the word was "triangular".
Bruce Berry was a working man
He used to load that Econoline van...
Early in the morning
At the break of day
He used to sleep
Until the afternoon
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night...
People let me tell you
It sent a chill
Up and down my spine...
When I picked up the telephone...
And heard that he died...
Out on the mainline...
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night...
--------------------------------------------------------
There seems to be short sporadic themes running through my shots at the minute...Right now it's death.
I'm reflecting on a lot of friends that I have lost over the years, and it fills me with sadness...not because of the death itself as such, as I had lost contact with many of them, but because of the waste of young lives and the voids it left in their families...
For many of them, tonight was the night.
May they rest in peace.
Up in the rainbow teepee sky

That's just a mirror in your eye...

Rock and roll will never die. How much longer are we going to have to listen to that man bay at the moon?--a housemate of mine once asked. A long, long time, I'm hoping. Neil Young plays a guitar solo in D minor on "Blackie", his favored Gibson Les Paul, during a performance of 'Southern Man' .

My first time here today. It's been on my list to visit for a few years. In the middle of nowhere, and you wouldn't know it was here unless you go down the correct road and looked to the East at the right time. Here's some history on it:
Dugout shelters were a common form of shelter in the earliest stages of Alberta's settlement. Settlers required some form of shelter from the elements immediately after arriving at their homesteads. They often constructed rudimentary shelters using pre-modern building techniques. In addition to tents, sod huts and simple shacks, dugouts were frequently excavated for use as temporary living quarters. In the region that would become Alberta, dugouts were typically below grade excavations or dug into existing embankments. Roofs were generally made from logs or sod and were usually supported by poles. However, a wide variety of dugout construction techniques existed and stone, while unusual in Alberta, was used occasionally.
It is not known who constructed the Sunnyslope Sandstone Shelter; it was likely built by homesteaders who migrated from the American Midwest to the Central Alberta region between 1900 and 1905. One of these homesteaders, George Schech, used the structure as a temporary residence until he completed a frame house on the same quarter-section, after which he used the dugout as a root cellar. Both George Schech and a previous homesteader on the same quarter-section were reputed to have been trained stonemasons, which may explain the unusual choice of sandstone as the main construction material. Both homesteaders came to this region after residing in the American Midwest, where root cellar dugouts were also used as storm shelters. Stone construction was common throughout the Midwest due to the overall lack of trees and the added protection stone offered from tornados and other violent weather experienced by that area. The Sunnyslope Sandstone Shelter consists of a single, barrel-vaulted chamber accessed by a staircase. The main chamber, which is covered by an earthen mound, has mortared sandstone walls and ceiling and a hard-packed earth floor. Oriented on an east/west axis, it is approximately 2.25 metres by 4 metres in size and has a ceiling height ranging from 1.7 to 1.8 metres. A small opening is placed in the south facing elevation for light and ventilation. The staircase, which is located at the west side of the main chamber, is constructed of large, flat pieces of sandstone supported by earth and smaller stone chunks. It is covered by a vaulted, sandstone masonry ceiling. Access to the structure is gained through a west facing, arched entryway, which projects above ground.

Neil Young: Does the bus stop here? I have my gorgeous Everything for the Girl suitcase all packed!
Me: I DO love that suitcase! I would take that too, IF I were leaving! It is gorgeous!
Neil Young: Well, you just never know! Today might be the day that I run away and join the circus!
Me: OH! :D
Thanks so very much, Alisa, for our beautiful suitcase! SO gorgeous inside too! I love this new design!!!

This wasn't a single tree in the field, unfortunately, but it was away from a small group of other trees so it was like the lonely tree that wasn't wanted by the others. :)
hope you enjoy, harvest moon

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
Then when we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is risin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
