La Monument Valley, mito degli Stati Uniti occidentali, è un pianoro desertico di origine fluviale al confine tra Utah e Arizona in un'area isolata che dista più di 70 km da Kayenta, la cittadina più vicina. La strada che conduce alla Monument Valley è l' altrettanto famosa: Highway 163.che, nella parte terminale, segue un percorso rettilineo in leggera discesa che dà al viaggiatore l'impressione di calarsi all'interno della valle. Il territorio è prevalentemente pianeggiante ad eccezione del fatto che la pianura è cosparsa da una sorta di guglie dette butte o mesas. Questi edifici naturali formati da roccia e sabbia hanno la forma di torri dal colore rossastro (causato dall'ossido di ferro).
La zona fa parte della Navajo Nation Reservation ed è un Tribal Park con ingresso a pagamento. Gli indiani gestiscono tutte le attività all'interno della valle compreso il discusso e costoso View hotel inaugurato nel 2009 costruito sul posto dell'essenziale campeggio che esisteva da 40 anni.

International Fairy Day is celebrated every year on June 24. The idea behind the day is to appreciate and uplift the celebration of mythical creatures such as fairies and to use their tales to teach valuable lessons to the children. The concept of having a utopia where there are fairies and mythical creatures and that anything can happen drives the children to aim for the things that are considered impossible by the current systems, with the confidence that they can do it. So in demonstrating the belief that fairies exist, we celebrate International Fairy Day.

Explore the Rocky Coastline:
The coastline of Rapa Nui is jagged, volcanic and exceptionally beautiful. Huge waves batter the rocks, giving the entire place a rugged atmosphere.
While the beaches at Anakena and Ovahe are perfect for chilling on the sand and going for a dip, the rest of the spots would be better suited for big-wave surfers and spear fishing. Or for what we do – photography!
While the moais are obviously the star attraction on Rapa Nui, made sure I at spend a bit of time admiring just how beautiful this coastline is.
My Tip – This is where having your own car is perfect, but even if you don’t rent a vehicle still make a point to get down to a different spot for sunset on the coast at least once.

The weather stated thunderstorms, solid cloud cover, and just awful weather to dominate the landscape for the next few days. Yesterday, while I was getting comfortable sitting around the house irritated that I wasn't going to get out the storm system broke, and while my first thought was it would be just for a few minutes, the weather amended itself and said it would be partly cloudy with a chance of storms. So, I left the house at 4pm and headed out into the mountains. At first I thought I would be lucky to get anything, but the longer I drove the more the sky broke for me. Though that wasn't the only issue at hand, in the peaks act like a cloud forest, so I was driving in and out of a dense wall of clouds through the various peaks and valleys until I broke through at last. I hadn't intended to drive from the end of the parkway to Craggy, but as a photographer, it's my job to chase the light. This valley stretched off into the distance, different mountains, and a road in the very rear of the image. I sat up there in high winds, high humidity getting soaked to the bone. Other photographers came and went, but I stayed, waiting for my perfect light... this is the best of the shots I got, I hope you enjoy.

No filters, sitting atop a wall in the one place my view wasn't obstructed by the trees bellow, and I decided to do a 5 shot exposure bracket here to try and get the best of the dynamic range.

Many things change in the evening. Like here, where fishing nets turn into pure mythical creatures. Also a reason why many people like to spend the evenings at the cutter harbour.
Am Abend verändern sich viele Dinge. Wie hier, wo aus Fischernetzen reine Fabelwesen entstehen. Auch ein Grund, warum viele Menschen die Abende am Kutterhafen gerne verbringen.

shot quickly...not the best quality, but it was a fun shot!
for those that ask: Is that real? or is it edited? ... this was taken while driving (i wasn't driving) and is a real cloud formation that appeared. It has only been cropped and some levels were changed to create more contrast...that's it.
nature did the rest! :)

We are at Condor's Cross (altitude of 3800m /12467 ft), overlooking the Colca Canyon, in a grandiose landscape. And the condors arrived, impressive of strength and beauty.
It was an aerial ballet for more than half an hour, a mythical experience!

Nous sommes à la Croix du Condor à 3800m d'altitude, surplombant le Canyon du Colca, dans un paysage grandiose. Et les condors arrivèrent, impressionnants de force et de beauté.
Ce fut un ballet aérien pendant plus d'une 1/2 heure, une expérience mythique !

Prague’s swans are photographed almost as much as some of the monuments, statues, cathedrals and buildings throughout the city.

One of the grandest – and most photographed – landmarks in the United States, Monument Valley is a sprawling, sandy preserve that spans the border between Arizona and Utah, bathing the region in rich red hues. Dominated by crimson mesas and surreal sandstone towers – some as tall as 1,000 feet – the area is also known for dramatic, mesmerizing lighting, with the sun illuminating the towers and casting long shadows on the valley floor.
Located inside the Navajo Nation – one of the largest Native American tribes in the United States – Monument Valley is around four hours northeast of Flagstaff, near the Four Corners area.
Monument Valley provides perhaps the most enduring and definitive images of the American West. The isolated red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty, sandy desert have been filmed and photographed countless times over the years for movies, adverts and holiday brochures. Because of this, the area may seem quite familiar, even on a first visit, but it is soon evident that the natural colors really are as bright and deep as those in all the pictures. The valley is not a valley in the conventional sense, but rather a wide flat, sometimes desolate landscape, interrupted by the crumbling formations rising hundreds of feet into the air, the last remnants of the sandstone layers that once covered the entire region.

La fête est finie !
(Chiang-Sean)-Thaïlande - Scène saisie au Nord à Chiang-Sean, sur les rives du mythique Mékong. De l'autre côté, c'est le Laos. La frontière birmane n'est qu'à une vingtaine de kilomètres. Nous sommes dans le Triangle d'Or.
Ce jour là à Chiang-Sean, c'est jour de fête. Quand je prends cette photo, , la fête vient de se terminer. Les musiciens remballent les instruments de musique, après avoir offert au public un étonnant et sympathique défilé. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas la Thaïlande, il faut savoir que chaque ville, même de moyenne importance, dispose d’une école de musique et d'une fanfare.

This day in Chiang-Sean, it is a day of celebration. At the time this photo was taken, the party has just ended. The musicians pack up the musical instruments, after having offered the public an astonishing and pleasant parade. For those who do not know Thailand, you should know that every city, even of medium size, has a music school and a brass band.
