A hand drawn sketch by Dr. Christensen from the University of Michigan Medical School for the laboratory sessions he conducted in the Medical Histology Course for first year medical students. The drawings were done with felt markers on a white board in the lab during the morning of the day a particular topic was being studied in the course. When the laboratory session began, the drawings were briefly discussed, and they could be seen by the students throughout the laboratory period.

Known as Quain's Plates, this book was the fourth in a series of five volumes of anatomical plates (1836-1842), with references and physiological comments, edited by Jones Quain and William James Erasmus Wilson.
They aimed to provide students with affordable access to high quality illustrations with English commentary. Their comments give detailed descriptions of the parts of the body in the illustration, and explain the process of dissection needed to show them.
The original drawings by W.Bagg were done from nature then lithographed by William Fairland for reproduction.
Part of the Anatomical Atlases in Special Collections & Archives, SPEC Anatomy 12.
One copy of these plates was part of the Medical Library of the Liverpool Infirmary before passing to the Departmental Library in Anatomy.

Muscle car meet in Jordbro today. I arrived early for once. This was the first snap I took. A 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. I decided only to use one of my new Yongnou lenses, so all photos from this meet were shot with a 100mm lens.

Before the big modern concrete edifice at Muscle Beach on the Venice Boardwalk there was a little weight garden surrounded by a short chain link fence. People used to gather around to watch the lifters.

There are almost endless numbers of Hot Wheels generics I would rather poke my own eyes out than buy! Clearly aimed at less discerning youngsters they vary from crap to damn right abysmal! Occasionally they do actually design the odd generic which either strongly resembles a real vehicle or is at least believable in its concept. The Muscle Tone is one such casting which takes its styling cues from various modern era U.S. Muscle Cars and mixes them about a bit. Smoothly styled its one model I do infrequently buy rather than just completely ignore.
This loose and slightly play worn example dates from around 2003 and was found recently in a charity shop by Mikaela.
