Quadrotor Flight Controller class at the HiTech STEM Lab at the East Columbia Branch of the HCLS. The purpose of the class is to introduce students to quadcopters through hand-on learning. The studets investigated the physics behind multirotor liftoff, stabilization, direction of flight, and landing the aircraft. Students worked in teams to assemble the

propulsion system and wire the flight controller and power system. Students honed their flight skills through a flight simulator before flight testing their builds in the final class.

Finally put together a working UAV using the Ardupilot Mega platform from DIYDrones.com. I originally bought this platform for a multirotor, but couldn't get a good homebrew airframe, so I decided to get a Skyfun and install it here for some fun. I also installed a 5.8GHz FPV system, but need to get it working properly. I might also try a 500W 3550kv motor in this airframe to break into 100+mph.

Next project is to get the Arducopter back together in a new airframe with an entirely new power plant. I plan on using the ArdupiratesNG codebase as a starting point for my quad.

Powerplant:

RCTimer 2826-6 2200kv motor

6x4e prop (tried a 7x3, but that pulled a lot out of the pack)

30A ESC

SkyLipo 3S1P 2200maH 30C

Wltoys V222 2.4G 6-Axis RC Quadcopter With Camera LED Light RTF

Got this cool little quadrocopter to help ease myself back into RC flying.

It comes ready to fly with a 2.4GHz transmitter and on-board LEDs to help with orientation day or night flying.

This is cool craft also has a modular payload that can add a transmitter controlled 640x480 CAMera, Bubble Blower, Missile Launcher, Water Cannon, and Grappling Hook.
