The Wasp class is a class of Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) amphibious assault ships operated by the United States Navy. Based on the Tarawa class, with modifications to operate more advanced aircraft and landing craft, the Wasp class is capable of transporting almost the full strength of a United States Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and landing them in hostile territory via landing craft or helicopters as well as providing air support via AV-8B Harrier II attack aircraft or F-35B Lightning II stealth strike-fighters. All Wasp-class ships were built by Ingalls Shipbuilding, at Pascagoula, Mississippi, with the lead ship, USS Wasp, commissioned on 29 July 1989. Eight Wasp-class ships were built, and as of June 2018, all eight are active.

The Padma Multipurpose Bridge is a multipurpose road-rail bridge across the Padma River, the main distributary of Ganges, under construction in Bangladesh with its own resources. It connects Louhajong, Munshiganj to Shariatpur and Madaripur, linking the south-west of the country, to northern and eastern regions. Padma Multipurpose Bridge is considered to be the most challenging construction project in the history of Bangladesh. The two-level steel truss bridge carries a four-lane highway on the upper level and a single track railway on a lower level. The bridge with 150.12 m (492.5 ft) long 41 spans, 6.150 km (3.821 mi) total length and 22.5 m (74 ft) width, is the longest bridge in Bangladesh and the longest over Ganes in terms of both span and the total length. The highest depth of pile of this bridge is 122 metre, which is highest among all other bridges. Padma Multipurpose Bridge, when commissioned, is expected to boost the GDP of Bangladesh by as much as 1.2 percent.

Members of the Lundag Eskaya Multipurpose Cooperative Aloponis Bid, from left, German Borsano, and Crescencio Balaba with some of their sweetpotato chips in the Lundag Pilar community in Bohol, Philippines. They are members of an indigenous community known as the Eskaya, members have banded together to begin a sweetpotato production business. They've learned how to participate in the market and become players in the local value chain through Farmer Business Schools. The sweetpotatoes are grown interspersed with fruit and forest trees to help minimize deforestation. The Farmer Business School model was introduced in the area with generous funding from IFAD. CIP was asked to introduce the model from CIP partner INREMP, a government project focused on conserving local forests, to help people in the community find alternatives to deforestation. Protecting the forest helps create a buffer that mitigates the impact of tropical storms. The group has learned business skills, including production, marketing, and how to participate in value chains. To date the group has developed ten different flavors of sweetpotato chips and a variety of sweetpotato juice using locally available mango and a citrus fruit known as calamari. "Everyone got excited when they learned came could be turned into different prodcs and not just boiled or cooked in sugar," says the group manager Jenelie Sandigan.
