This is the stone on which tradition holds that Christ sat as he broke the bread and the fish and distributed enough food for 5000 men, plus their wives and families (in the ancient middle east, a count of people means that was the count of just the men). There is a mosaic on the floor at the alter showing two fish and FOUR loaves in a basket, the fifth loaf being metaphorically distributed by the priest in the church. There were of course 12 baskets of bread left over, a metaphor for God's goodness in supplying the needs of the twelve tribes of Israel as He promised.

Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.

Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand. (Mark 6:40-44)

A month or two ago, I had never seen the inside of a RoBoT. Now I'm on my third. Two IIs and a IIa here.

Differences between the II and IIa include:

- IIa has added X sync terminal

-IIa can accept a standard 35mm film roll (but one of these IIs can too)

-IIa wind knob has a silent ratchet

-IIa holds shutter open if you pull your finger off the button during a 1/2 second exposure -- with the II, if you lift your finger early you'll get a shorter exposure.

-Most IIa's have an accessory shoe, although mine doesn't (this might not be original). The II has 2 holes on top to receive an accessory viewfinder.

-IIa shutter speed dial has click stops
