"Now, there was two butterflies castin' their eyes,
Both in the same direction,
You'd never guess that one little Yes
Could start a butterfly collection...."

The species has a flexible life cycle, which allows it to capitalize on favourable weather conditions...However, the most remarkable feature of the Comma has been its severe decline in the twentieth century and subsequent comeback...It is now widespread in southern Britain and its range is expanding northwards...."

Occurrence and environment
This bird nests in Europe and Asia. It winters in Africa. In Poland, it is quite numerous throughout the country. It prefers deciduous, mixed forests and larger parks.
Lifestyle and behavior
It's a migratory bird. It leads a secretive life in the treetops.
Food
It hunts insects and other invertebrates. It starts eating fruit in summer.
Multiplication
Usually it produces 1, rarely 2 broods a year. It nests low above the ground in bushes. The male and female build the nest together. 4-6 eggs are laid. The eggs are incubated by the male and female alternately for 11-13 days. After about 2 weeks, the young become flighty.
LC protection and threats
This species is not in danger of extinction. It has LC status in the Red List of Threatened Species. In Poland it is subject to strict protection.
Trivia
Warblers have a natural drive to migrate regardless of weather conditions and food availability. Birds spontaneously gain weight during a given period and set off on a journey when there is plenty of food and good weather.
