I couldn't resist to take a selfie at (or rather under) the Cloud Gate, a sculpture by Anish Kapoor installed in the Millennium park in Chicago, IL, U.S.A. It is definitely one of the most intriguing modern sculptures I've seen installed in public spaces.
A little fun with oranges, tangerines, glass from a picture frame and some water droplets. I discovered that the glass is not as pristine as I thought. Need new glass... I think that in the future I will use filtered water and perhaps even demineralized water in order for it not to leave any stains when it dries. I didn't notice those when looking at the small screen on the camera alhtough I zoomed in to check.
The magic sauce: In order to make the droplets form properly I first sprayed some Rain X rain repellant on the glass, wiped it and repeated 3 times. Amazing what a difference that makes on the droplets.
My second attempt at using the multiple exposure method (made famous by Pep Ventosa) seen in the tree a few images back. As I couldn't find a lone tree nearby to walk around, I thought I'd try flowers.
I picked a bunch of red Geraniums from the garden and photographed them in the backyard while walking around them (actually I had to crawl around them to get the right height).
Hope you like the result, especially since I crawled in dog poo to get it!

This is a combination of four in camera 10 multiple exposures (40 images) and some textures.
I have been wanting to try the Pep Ventosa technique "in the round" after being inspired by the work of friends on Flickr. I was unable to do the exposures "in the round" as there were no single trees that I could walk around near-by. Will have to wait till we can move about more!
Instead I photographed 10 different street trees for each batch of multiple exposures and then blended them in Photoshop.
You can also take the images separately and blend them in Photoshop which I tried on one occasion and it crashed the computer! Huge files- I realised afterwards it is best to take them in jpegs.
The tree probably needs abit more definition to make this image successful but I liked the colours and textures I ended up with.
I think it is good to post an image of the beginning of a journey into a new technique and hopefully see an improvement along the way. I have a few more ideas to try.
This building has been photographed before: www.flickr.com/photos/41812704@N03/6204025856/in/photolis... and www.flickr.com/photos/40031911@N03/11130428255/in/photoli... . I've however gone for a "multiplication", adding together a photo and its symmetrical in order to suggesting a bigger building.
