Slowly the signs are appearing, the colourful season that is autumn, is upon us.
Each season has its own colour-palette, spring with the fresh and pastel, summer with the rich and warm tones, autumn with russet and more ‘spent’ hues and then winter, the cool and more stark and dark colours.
I love each one for these particular reasons.
The apples start falling from the trees, as do the nuts.

For Our Daily Challenge: Multicolour
We recently installed shelving in a spot in the basement where a now-defunct refrigerator once stood. My wife, an organization junkie, has quickly begun using these shelves to maintain an orderly arrangement for all kinds of dry goods on hand. Not that we’ll be using any of this stuff for our Thanksgiving meal tomorrow, but it seemed an appropriate time to post this one, as my wife and I are certainly thankful for all that we have. And besides, I am running out of time to post a shot for the multicolour challenge.

Although rainbow is a multicolour bow of light coming from raindrops, this is only true for an observer standing on the ground. For an observer up in the air the rainbow is a multicolour full circle formed symmetrically by light comming from raindrops around this circle.
As for the shadow, in any case the sun must be behind the obsrver and the raindrops in front of him/her. So the the airplane was in the middle the sun was on the right of it and its shadow and a full circled rainbow on the left.

Warrington experienced a stunning multicolour visual display in the night skies as the Northern Lights danced above the town.
This is a multi-exposure combination in the style of the photographer Harris Shutter. It consists of three exposures, blended in-camera. The 3 shots were taken with the lens covered with (1) a red filter, (2) blue filter, and (3) green filter. The idea is that everything that does not move gets the original colour, while the moving parts are influenced by the filters. Unfortunately, the non-moving parts are not nicely adjusted, probably due to my not so good tripod, shutter movement and a rather strong wind. I will try again hopefully next weekend in better conditions. However, I cannot use the electronic shutter because for some reason that does not work in combination with multiple exposure.
