Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!

Today is a pink or purple day at Color my world Daily but obviously I will skip it this week. We have an awesome theme at Smile on Saturday (one of my favourite groups on Flickr) and it is selective multicolour. I had lots of ideas for this picture but finally I decided to go with smarties. Not only because they are one of my favourite candies but also because of the multicolour factor. I took this picture on my cheat day and since I was home alone there was no one to share my candies with (and it is a very, very rare situation here …)… Isn’t that awesome ? It is like Christmas before Christmas ;-).

Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!

Sorry for not answering your comments yesterday, but my parent dropped by with a few bottles of emergency wine (apparently you are always suppose to have some emergency wine with you ... according to my parents) and yadayadayada, long story short, I have a huge hungover today… I will be back as soon, as my fingers are able to write again ….

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !

I recently noticed what lovely abstract shapes paperclips make if you mangle them (a Peter Whitfield word, I think). And I happen to have some very lovely, bright multicoloured paper clips that looked kind of cool in a heap.

A great, fun theme. Just wish I'd had more time to try a few more ideas that were swimming in my head but it's a "shoot and run" kind of day.

Kirribilli House is the secondary official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. Located in the Sydney harbourside suburb of Kirribilli, New South Wales, the house is at the far eastern end of Kirribilli Avenue. It is one of two official Prime Ministerial residences, the primary official residence being The Lodge in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The house, gardens and grounds are listed on the Commonwealth Heritage List.

Port Jackson, consisting of the waters of Sydney Harbour, Middle Harbour, North Harbour and the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, is the natural harbour of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The harbour is an inlet of the Tasman Sea (part of the South Pacific Ocean). It is the location of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The location of the first European settlement and colony on the Australian mainland, Port Jackson has continued to play a key role in the history and development of Sydney. Port Jackson, in the early days of the colony, was also used as a shorthand for Sydney and its environs. Many recreational events are based on or around the harbour itself particularly the Sydney New Year's Eve celebrations and the starting point of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. The waterways of Port Jackson are managed by the Roads & Maritime Services. Sydney Harbour National Park protects a number of islands and foreshore areas, swimming spots, bushwalking tracks and picnic areas. 14701

SELECTIVE MULTICOLOUR - Smile on Saturday

Macromonday multicolour

From the smallest damsel I've ever seen and photographed, to the largest dragonfly I've ever seen and photographed in flight. With me, dragons in flight is all persistence and luck. Really. I never know which way they'll turn, and how long they'll be going in a straight flight path. Pretty much like birds in flight ;-)

A name sometimes applied to some of the blue Aeshna dragonfly species (Mosaic Darners/Hawkers), typically species found in North America, such as the Blue-eyed Darner, "Aeshna multicolour", as the members of the genus are not referred to as 'Darners' in other English speaking countries. This one is also known as "The Mosaic."

You might note that this isn't in my "Favorites Album," and some may wonder why. Well, it's a pretty good shot, but not fantastic. Exposure could have been better. And while it took literally years to get my four dragonfly in flight, as I told my kids (and students), "Don't confuse effort with results." The effort I put in deserved a participation trophy, but like ol' oscar made of plastic and, deep down, worth as little.

In my favourite woods...l love it in the dark places. :-)

"RIGHT!!!...Heads up chaps"...CAN EVERYBODY HEAR ME AT THE BACK?"...Well, I'm having a bit of a cull at the moment...Some 25 people have gone already today with quite a few more yet to go...Reason being l'm getting tired of leaving dozens and dozens of comments each day without any replies of any sorts.

So please don't feel guilty if you don't hear from me again...but have a great life...it's been a gas.

Yours truly

Thank you for your visit. HSoS!

…….I don’t think I’ve ever taken so many pictures for a ‘theme shot’ before! After much deliberation I’ve gone for this simpler shot as it looked Space like as opposed to being a bit to Christmas like. I hope you are having a very smiley New Years Day and not too spaced out after last night!😊 HSoS, Alan:-) HAPPY NEW YEAR………
