Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of Multicolour. Some Skittle sweets. Well within the 3" size limit.
Port Jackson, consisting of the waters of Sydney Harbour, Middle Harbour, North Harbour and the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers, is the natural harbour of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The harbour is an inlet of the Tasman Sea (part of the South Pacific Ocean). It is the location of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The location of the first European settlement and colony on the Australian mainland, Port Jackson has continued to play a key role in the history and development of Sydney. Port Jackson, in the early days of the colony, was also used as a shorthand for Sydney and its environs. Many recreational events are based on or around the harbour itself particularly the Sydney New Year's Eve celebrations and the starting point of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. The waterways of Port Jackson are managed by the Roads & Maritime Services. Sydney Harbour National Park protects a number of islands and foreshore areas, swimming spots, bushwalking tracks and picnic areas. 25999
There has never been a more greater a time than to start looking after yourself and raising your vibration. Reach for the higher frequency, get off the cigarettes, start eating healthy, get more exercise, ditch the soda pops, eat more plants, do the damn research in every sense and for godsakes, wake up! Ask yourself this, are you prepared for what's coming? Do you even know what's coming? Now's the time!

Flowerworks that look like fireworks?
Yes, my burning passion for flowers, the capturing of their beauty in a thousand different ways, a wonderful challenge... everyday!
There are people who 'talk' to the flowers and plants?
Me, I just 'listen' to them, I open the wrapping, they fall open on the table and tell me.
The closer I looked the more they invited me in, to listen , yet keeping the center of the flower still very secret...
They emerged from the dark.

A very small snail (shell 12 mm) back-lit by strong sunshine on my colourful Phormium 'Jester' plant, shot with a Raynox DCR-250 mounted on the front of my macro lens.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Eye'.
I had initially wanted to try to photograph just a single eye of the snail glowing with the backlight, so needed the Raynox attachment - but this proved impossible, as the snail moved quickly enough to be out of the frame before I could get a good focus on the eye. So I had to pull back with the camera and capture the whole snail - I got lucky with this image as one of the eyes was nicely backlit, while the other eye was only visible as a shadow on the leaf so the emphasis is still on the single eye.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.

Out of the greenhouses they are for sale, full on, in the garden we are waiting for more clement weather.

My attempt to this week's theme, I am not sure, if I managed to totally fulfill the criteria.
While she was out there to capture the Northern Lights, she managed to capture some nice bokeh.

Portrait of the Strelitzia reginae also called Bird of Paradise.
A stunningly beautiful flower, exotic, well to us, not in the countries where they grow naturally. I always say it, one man's exotic is another man's 'daily'... lol
I again tried to photograph them in the 'style’ that I love so much, a bit moody, dramatic, theatrical, playing with the light and dof.

So I've been a bit busy recently, working on some new writing projects, plus last week I celebrated 5 years sobriety, had me a bit distracted but now I am looking to get back to my photography. This butterfly I snapped a few weeks ago, it oddly stayed completely motionless as I got closer and closer with the Nikkor 55-200mm VR1, which was a surprise as they usually fly off right when you have the focus on.
It was something to note that I also saw several other photographers had take very similar captures and so I took it as a spiritual omen, hence the title.

Just look how capricious the flower and the leaves are, all with fretted edges and mad colours

Yes, it was still Summer!
And Asters are almost the latest flowers in the garden here, still some colour though, despite the weather.
The most popular asters are Monte Casino and the New England aster.
Asters range in colours of white, red, pink, purple, lavender and blue.
Like the sunflower, the Aster flower is actually a collection of very tiny tubular flowers, which are grouped together in a central disk and surrounded by a “ray” of flowers or petals.
Asters are one of the easiest garden perennials to cultivate.
