Helped Alex to move earlier this week. Employing a moving service would have probably cost him 6 arms and 6 legs. So I recommended renting a van and doing it himself. As he didn't have a Japanese driver's license, I became his chauffeur for the day (although it only took both of us about 3 hours to move his stuff).

Mr Penske's truck with half the stuff out of it. Can't believe we had to do two trips, but then we do have a LOT of plants.
Boxes are stacked high on one of my desk, my shelves are down, and the only things left unpacked are my monitors, and main computer.
This is how many people move here. No rented van, no furniture. It is a city with LOTS of people living in small rooms with only a few clothes to call their own. Life is lived in public and out of the house.
so this is how people get their furniture upstairs! i've always wondered how things get up in places where there are no elevators....
