I was driving out of Boston and saw a crowd forming at the State House. It was a Support Wisconsin Rally organized by Mass Public Sector Unions and Moveon.Org. Not a big crowd and well behaved but I didn't see any mass of manufactured signs. Almost all seemed to be hand made.
MoveOn joined the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Credo. and other allies to deliver more than 400,000 petition signatures to Congress today in support of the Iran deal and against a needless war.

This is a good friend of mine who was passionately involved in MoveOn; I am sure you have all seen the MoveOn people on Court Street in the past few months. I found this interesting because this past election had a record amount of people running for the polls; that's great, that means they accomplished their goal. This is also important because until the late 1800's women had no say in politics in most places. This has taken quite a turn; most of the vote now advocates I saw were women.
MoveOn joined the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Credo. and other allies to deliver more than 400,000 petition signatures to Congress today in support of the Iran deal and against a needless war.
I finally put my feet where my mouth is and took to the streets to protest escalation of war in Iraq. It feels good, hopefully it will do some good... please do the same wherever you are... see www.moveon.org/ for more rallies and locations and stand up and be counted. Enough was enough already, now it is time to act.

McCain obviously did not agree with MoveOn.org's summation of Gen. Petraeus. The weird (and refreshing) thing was that he didn't use any of the hate speech or rhetoric I would expect in a reaction to such, well, hate speech and rhetoric by MoveOn. He was actually very respectful while saying that he thinks these types of attacks on our military are shameful. McCain made it clear he rejected MoveOn's opinion without calling them "unpatriotic" or using any other buzzwords and rhetoric.
This part of the rally was on the news @ 11 that night so I got a chance to re-evaluate what he said...I felt the same.

On January 10, 2009, the Progressive Democratic Roundtable (of Palm Beach County) had its first meeting. The mission of the PDRT is simply to encourage the sharing of information and ideas in order to foster cooperation and human interaction amongst the leaders and decision makers of peaceful, forward thinking organizations. Hosted by Democracy For America Palm Beach County, one representative of each of the invited progressive groups in Palm Beach County shared what they are working on with each other to find projects of mutual interest and work together.
