From MoveOn.org - Political action:
In Wisconsin and around our country, the American Dream is under fierce attack. Instead of creating jobs, Republicans are giving tax breaks to corporations and the very rich—and then cutting funding for education, police, emergency response, and vital human services.
On Saturday, February 26, at noon local time, we are organizing rallies in front of every statehouse and in every major city to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin. We demand an end to the attacks on worker's rights and public services across the country. We demand investment, to create decent jobs for the millions of people who desperately want to work. And we demand that the rich and powerful pay their fair share.

Moveon.org Chicago picketed the Bank of America Center late yesterday May 9, in solidarity with the protest that is happening in Charlotte, NC today May 10 where the BofA is headquartered. From Charlotte, NC to Los Angeles, CA, the 99% is gearing up for a massive showdown with Bank of America. BofA shareholders and CEO need to hear moveon.org's message loud and clear.
It's difficult to let go, accept how things are now and start living your life without someone that was a part of you. Change is challenging.

I’m posting these photos to commemorate the efforts made four years ago by American citizens to show the U.S. government that its people were against going to war with Iraq. This vigil was sponsored by MoveOn.org, and it took place in Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Sadly, it’s been over four years since then, and so many thousands have died, so many billions have been squandered, and so many people worldwide have been turned off by Americans. But, "It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness," eh?
Took my Canon 7D with me today to photograph this event and had a strange problem - aperture couldn't be changed and read out as 00 (zero-zero).
Pulled the battery, tried different modes. Still the problem. I still had to take pictures, so out came my Droid 2 and did a very creditable job on this one.
Decided to remove and replace the lens and that solved the problem. Never had had an experience like that.
Image from an Inaugural Ball party at Pie-Zano's in Phoenix, sponsored through MoveOn.org. Janet and her friend Meera are in a great photo a little earlier in this series on my photo stream.
Andrew at the "Rally to Save the American Dream" protest in support of Wisconsin. A sign behind him says "Worker's rights = human rights" (erroneously adding an apostrophe to workers). Dupont Circle, Washington, DC.
This ad ran in the New York Times on Sept. 10, 2007. It was widely condemned by members of Congress.
