To capture this shot I used two LED lights one on the right and one on the left side. Both had a yellow filter on them. I also used a flash set to the following. Using the multi flash method 1/16 sec, 4 flashes, at 1hz.

2 mm painted white steel ball jumping on granite tile
OK, dark room, exposure long enough to allow ball to travel through the whole frame. Strong side light set @ 4500K to make trace yellowish. Side flash in repeating mode. Adjust frequency so you get desired "number" of balls. Number of flashes to cover whole trace. Flash color is 5000-5500K, which illuminates the ball when it freezes. Trace is 4500K. This slight color difference makes ball pop. Apparently, the hardest part is to eliminate light reflections on the dark background, so set it as far back as possible. Try it, it's not that hard as it sounds
I took this picture using a slow shutter speed. I can't really remember the mode that I used. And then a friend came by on a skateboard.

I spun around in a chair and used the SlowShutter App. at two seconds for this image. I did several before coming up with this one.

Out in the mountains, even for a few hours, is rejuvenating. I’m reminded why I need to make it happen more often.
taken on a different day. this time i brought along my gorilla pod which I absolutely NEVER use. set it on the ground and tinkered with the shutter until it looked okay. Good thing the people sitting on the bench kept still for me. :)

tomorrow my first photography assignment is due then 2 weeks later the second is due. I have the first all done but the second is proving much harder. I have to photograph frozen movement & blurred movement...so easy using digital...film is much trickier. Anyway, tonight I spent a lot of time experimenting with my digital camera before daring to try using film. Time will tell how I went ...fingers crossed ;)
Berta and the green corn.
Geese have remarkable powers of perception (famously, geese warned the Romans of the Gallic invasion in 390 b.c.); the hiss of warning, almost snake-like, the beak wide open, the agitated honk with an outstretched neck, and—among many other goose noises—the great joyous cry of the guarding gander after his mate has laid an egg and gotten off her nest. Ducks quack, loudly or softly, but geese are large eloquent vocalizers, and each distinct breed has its own repertoire of phrases.

In the history of photography there are two men who lived almost parallel lives. Their dates are identical (1830-1904), one was a Frenchman and the other an Englishman, and in the second half of the 19th century they explored the idea of motion in photography. Unwittingly they became the originators of the theory behind motion pictures.

Étienne-Jules Marey invented the chronophotographic gun which could take up to 12 consecutive frames per second and all frames were recorded on the same photographic print. Suddenly one could see the subtle changes in position that indicated real motion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89tienne-Jules_Marey
Eadweard Muybridge had the more colourful life (which you can read about here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eadweard_Muybridge ), but was independently pursuing similar goals to his French "twin". He developed the zoopraxiscope, a device that enabled these static images to be put together to create motion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoopraxiscope
After these zoo photographs I will post some still (yet continuous) horse racing shots I took which I then used to create a similar motion sequence. For now, this is a simple collage of the two moving elephants I photographed at the Melbourne Zoo. I have placed them together in a manner somewhat like Marey's. The desaturated look is so the foliage does not distract from the elephants themselves.
