Submitted for Active Assignment Weekly - In Motion
WIT: I went to watch a horse show the other day, sat on the sidelines and had fun playing with pan shots. The combination of forward and upward motion at take off makes for some interesting shooting. Horse folk tend to like the freeze motion type action shots, where the horse hangs suspended over the jump with both front knees tucked up evenly. In my opinion pan shots show the power of the animal and the exhilaration of the moment, but you don't get many keeper shots - at least I don't :)
This photo is straight out of camera with conversion to b&w, and levels and curves adjustments, done in Photoshop.
I was doing a stop motion clip of me dancing, so.....
This are just two photos of the sequence of about 350 we made - many thanks to shay who help taking the pics without laughing (well, not too much)
It was the funniest thing and took some time cause we took one pic with flash and one without, to give it a "flickering" club look, thats it

People go about their lives without really thinking about what they are seeing half of the time. I want to show the perspective of the "watcher" who sits around and watches people pass by. If you set the camera down in a singular position and capture twenty images within a two-minute timeframe, everything that is stationary will be at visible still in the combined image, but everything around those stationary objects will be in motion. These photographs show that. The idea is that you are the "watcher" and seeing the time frame that was photographed without actually being there.
I haven't had a lot of time lately but this is one photo i had to put up.. more of motion city to come

I took the opportunity for some more panning practice today because bike riders are out in force each morning. I couldn't make my mind up which of the 2 posted today to pick as my 365. I went with this one because I liked the motion capture of the guy in the foreground speeding in the opposite direction.
Expression through Body Motion - from walking in nature to select a friend, sketching and transferring onto large paper, drawing via contour lines with the body, then through dance and seeing the shape of their friend in fabric. Two day workshop amazing time despite the rain and bundled with a delicious vegan spaghetti lunch!
