Using Stop Motion, animations can be created with only real-world objects on a blank stage, with only digital objects, or a mix of the two.
Ideum recently collaborated with HP to develop Stop Motion, a signature mixed-reality application for their innovative Sprout platform. Ideum’s Creative Services team took a rough proof-of-concept application previously developed by HP, designed a new user interface, and programmed the application to allow users to intuitively and efficiently create stop motion animations. This click captured the motion and movement in the pre-jump ring as this spectacular copper colored horse pranced about, awaiting his cue to shine for the judges.
Truly, this was his color in the sunshine. He was an amazingly gorgeous horse - and if you look closely, he has white freckles. Do you know of a redhead that doesn't sport freckles? Me neither.
Free Motion Quilting , all coloured thread on a white solid background. It was begun in a Sweet 16 workshop at our fabulous HandiQuilter dealer. BTW earned me a lovely red 2nd place ribbon
8th March 2011 - 365 day 67. Simple Harmonic Motion - no time for daylight photography today, so today's image is a study of Simple Harmonic Motion with a Newton's Cradle. Here, taking 3 of the 5 spheres to the side and releasing.

...the sphere is a cinematic manifestation of RPBW's desire to provide openness and public space, embodied in what could be seen as a somewhat retro vision of the future, given sophistication and glamour by the precision of its detailing.
A new public piazza leads towards and under the sphere, which is raised from the ground on just four massive concrete columns (earthquake-resisting structures): this route to one of the complex's main entrances is a completely open space, impressively roofed by the raked floor of the 1,000-seat theatre.
Above the theatre, looking out towards the Hollywood Hills, is an expansive terrace covered by a dramatic domed glass roof - coated and shaded to temper the Southern California sun - on a lightweight frame.

Part of Renzo Piano: The Art of Making Buildings
(September 2018 — January 2019)
United by a characteristic sense of lightness, and an interplay between tradition and invention, function and context, Piano’s buildings soar in the public imagination as they do in our skylines. Counting the New York Times Building and the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre in Nouméa among his creations, he has cemented his place as one of the greatest architects of our times.
This illuminating exhibition follows Piano’s career, from the influence of his Genoese heritage and his rise to acclaim alongside friend and collaborator Richard Rogers, to current projects still in the making. Focusing on 16 key buildings, it explores how the Renzo Piano Building Workshop designs buildings “piece by piece”, making deft use of form, material and engineering to achieve a precise and yet poetic elegance.

Late night street light motion blur. Achieved this photo by accelerating through a row of street light while chasing a man who hit my friends car. i also moved the camera very fast to get the blur.

In the 1989 Batman, the "sheild" effects were done with a model car and stop-motion (in the sequel Batman Returns, stop-motion techniques were replaced with CGI). However it should be noted that it's a full-sized Batmobile in this shot.
Smoke from an Incense Stick. Picture taken against a black background. The lighting was from an external flash that was fired manually during a long exposure from just below the frame pointing up.
The image was then inverted on the computer so instead of blue on black (which was the original), it became brown on white.
The image was then manually cleaned up with a white painbrush tool to remove stray bits of smoke that I didn't want.

From left, Daniel Schulman and Nishant Jalgaonkar, both PhD students in mechanical engineering, making adjustments to the active seat in the vehicle they use for researching motion sickness mitigation solutions for passengers of autonomous vehicles, outside the George G. Brown Laboratories on the North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2022.
Autonomous vehicles create the opportunity for passengers to perform productive tasks during their commutes. However, it is estimated that motion sickness afflicts one in three adults in the United States traveling in passenger vehicles. The aim of their project is to design, build, and test a motion sickness mitigation system such as an active seat, active restraint, active passenger stimuli, and active productivity interface.
