Je lui ai acheté des dessins et des toiles, mais j'étais son seul acheteur et je n'étais pas riche. Je l'ai introduit dans ma famille. Il avait déjà, enracinée en lui, la certitude de sa propre valeur. Il savait qu'il était un initiateur, pas un épigone, mais il n'avait encore aucune commande. Livorno. Amedeo Modigliani (in the background on the right) in a rare youthful photograph that portrays him around 1900 together with the famous Macchiaiolo painter Giovanni Fattori, his teacher. Next to Modigliani is Signora Marianna, Fattori's wife. Amedeo, born in Livorno in 1884, from a once wealthy Jewish family, moved to Paris in 1906. Alcohol and drugs hastened his end, which occurred in 1920.

青い瞳の女新作で僕の大好きなモディリアーニの画風を取り入れて、現代によみがえったモディリアーニの作品の様にお絵描きしました、僕が中学生の頃勉強の為有名画家の模写していて、セザンヌの青い花瓶の静物画やモディリアーニのネクタイの女を油絵で模写しました、その頃を思い出しながらお絵描きしました、この絵は贋作とも模写ともパロディー風とも言えませんが、モディリアーニの現代によみがえった幻の作品の様にお絵かきしました、ちなみに中学時代に模写したモディリアーニのネクタイをした女は、姉の家グランドピアノの上の壁に飾られていて、来客からこの絵は本物ですかと聞かれているそうです。(笑)
