I just love how they used light throughout this architectural icon at Pinakothek der Moderne Art Gallery in Munich
Thought at first this was art deco, but a bit of web research indicates its probably the style "moderne".
Apparently built in 1938-1939 for the Kent car manufacturer/dealership 'Rootes' and it is Grade II listed.
I'd never heard of Rootes, but they were responsible for manufacturing cars I have heard of, including the Hillman Minx and Sunbeam Alpine.

The Moderne is located in Midtown Manhattan just three blocks from Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center and the Museum of Modern Art. From the hotel, it is an easy walk to Fifth Avenue shops, Central Park, Lincoln Center, Times Square and all of the Broadway Theaters. The Jacob Javitz Convention Center is a few minutes by car. John F. Kennedy International Airport is 30 minutes, La Guardia Airport is 20 minutes and Newark International Airport is 30 minutes.
