As architecture is a hobby of mine I went here and even missed other famous sights in town.

Legendary

The “Marina Bay Sands” is a masterpiece of architecture, an architectural statement and an aesthetic triumph and has raised the bar for buildings in Singapore.

Since 2010, its breathtaking silhouette has dominated the entire bayfront and shaped the Singapore skyline.

The building was designed by the famous architect Moshe Safdie. With its three 194-meter-high towers, which are connected by the “SkyPark”, it casts a spell over visitors.

This is a second series of buildings (some as photographed), glass panels, abstract shapes formed from buildings. Most are in London, although they could be any city. I have not named any building, nor have attempted to find Architects or Designers. I have just altered things to my own taste, nothing is sacrosanct, nothing lasts for ever, new ideas quickly become old as will these images be the moment I post them. Please enjoy.

Staircase in the Canadian Museum of History, formerly known as the Canadian Museum of Civilization. As a museum of human history, the museum collects, studies, preserves and presents natural objects and artifacts that illuminate the human history of Canada and its cultural diversity. The museum was designed by Aboriginal architect Douglas Cardinal.

The cantelivered levels of the Curatorial Wing are said to represent the outcropping bedrock of the Canadian Shield, and in this photo you can see how the interior curving planes reiterate the building's facade and from certain angles seem almost to merge with them.

I've uploaded quite a few shots of One New Change before so I thought I'd do something a bit different with this image. Given the actual design is nearly symmetrical it wasn't too much of a jump to produce a 'flipped' version.

For anyone interested in my file naming, this is a shot taken on the day of the annual Photo24 event. Having not visited One New Change during the designated 24hr time period I decided to call there on my my home to make use of the hired 10.5mm Nikon fisheye lens I'd hired for the weekend and consequently was taken during my 26th hour of photo taking........

From Wikipedia : "The development's sensitive location — opposite St. Paul's Cathedral — and its modern architecture led to some controversy during its planning and construction, including criticism from Prince Charles. The architect was Jean Nouvel and the developer was Land Securities. The new eight-storey, 34 m high centre replaced an 11-storey, 40 m building constructed in the 1950s for the Bank of England, which was demolished in 2007. The complex's distinctive appearance has given it the nickname "the stealth bomber".

One New Change opened its doors to the public at midday on 28 October 2010. The roof terrace, with its restaurant and cafe, was opened on 18 November 2010."

Another improvised night shot walking home from a late film fest screening. Rested the camera on the edge of the old, stone bridge over the canal at this spot, in timer mode, to steady it for a long exposure in lieu of not having the tripod with me - limits your choice of angles, unlike tripod, but it works not too bad in a pinch!
