a staircase that never ends. up or down? does it matter? time bends, movement blurs. only the void remains.

Abstract Experiments in Photoshop

This is just a montage of images put together just to see how they came out, using Photoshop filters. Abstracts, shadows, lights, reflections, mirror images and shapes in any format. I take this opportunity to thank all those Flickr people who inspired me with their work and taught me to look at things in a completely new way. This is the fourth posting of the series.

The library opened almost exactly 25 years ago, on April 18th, 1996, the 90th anniversary of the great San Francisco earthquake and fire. Architects are James Ingo Freed and Cathy Simon. The atrium is 5 stories high, topped by the skylight.

Reality, bent just enough to look like a dream.

two shadows drift into the blinding calm, swallowed by light, traced by concrete ribs that echo silence. the architecture breathes like a living cathedral—empty, precise, timeless.

This is a second series of buildings (some as photographed), glass panels, abstract shapes formed from buildings. Most are in London, although they could be any city. I have not named any building, nor have attempted to find Architects or Designers. I have just altered things to my own taste, nothing is sacrosanct, nothing lasts for ever, new ideas quickly become old as will these images be the moment I post them. Please enjoy.

A shot of the recently opened Barbara Hepworth building at Huddersfield University. The building looks to be balanced precariously, hence my title.
