I had a blast running my SPC 2-6-0 over the weekend. This loco has an RC system for the throttle, reverser, and whistle.
I was able to achieve a nice, steady, slow run and was quite happy to get a solid run in for an hour with just a few stops for water to be sure things were good in the boiler.

The Miniature Railroad’s story began in 1919 with a man named Charles Bowdish of Brookville, PA. Originally a holiday display on the second floor of his house, it moved to the Buhl Planetarium in 1954, and ultimately found its final home at Carnegie Science Center in 1992.
My father was eighteen years old when he built this inch and a half scale Milwaukee Road GP9 out of wood and metal. There were no scale drawings available at the time for this venerable locomotive, so dad (as I did) would always be found trackside or riding on the local patrol. While dad rode the patrol, he would take measurements of the GP9 and notes which would aid in building this massive EMD GP9. Pa is eighty five now and still building large trains, not this large however, garden railroad size.

These are custom built and modified Sofue and Max Gray o Scale brass models I’ve painted and weathered and photographed. I hope some of my viewers enjoy some images of my Model Railroad endeavors in O Scale Model Railroading. A friend and I have built a sectional portable o scale model railroad that is roughly 60’ x 30’ that we exhibit. The trains are all 1/48 scale or a quarter inch is one foot. Unlike o gauge toy trains we build and model in 2 rail scale much like smaller scales we strive for the most authentic miniatures.
Dampflok der Baureihe 24, der Deutschen Bundesbahn.
Als »Steppenpferd« wurde die Lok deshalb bezeichnet,
weil sie vor allem im Flachland eingesetzt worden ist.

Steam locomotive of the Class 24, of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
The locomotive was called a "steppe horse" because it was mainly used in the lowlands.
Here as an H0 model from Fleischmann.

Sun is setting over a sleepy shunting yard in Esslingen, Württemberg. The old, unsuspecting nightwatchman just started his rounds. Not knowing there is an unscrupulous crook around the next corner. How will this encounter end?
After seeing www.flickr.com/photos/thomas_reincke/52972245863/in/datep... posting his beautiful Württemberg Guterwagens/boxcars I wanted to post my own rendition. I've also got my hands on some dark green 1x2 tiles in the Lego online store and was finally able to build a boxcar in dark green. The techniques used in the design are much similar to my boxcars for cattle but I had to find a way to make the sides without the 2x4 and 2x3 tiles which are either not available in dark green or in case of the first more expensive than gold. After some puzzling I found a - very parts intensive @Nick ;) - solution and this afternoon I took an hour to create this small diorama.
The boxcar is Epoche 1 and based on this Marklin model: rlp.museum-digital.de/object/60607
I’m probably going to use it as the first car for an upcoming Bavarian freight train/guterzug.

When I saw this train along U.S. 50 west of Mcarthur in Vinton County, Ohio, I was reminded of Lampy's years as an engineer.

Along with the actual locomotive and train set, this antique Lionel collection also came in the original packaging. Its amazing to think that these cardboard boxes have lasted 65 years.

A freight train is running on the mainline of my garden railroad. In the center of the consist were these three USA Trains boxcars, all custom weathered. With the Reading RR boxcar crossing the bridge lettered "Reading Lines" I just had to get a combo shot.
