Back in 1977-78 when the Chessie Steam Special was making its excursion runs over the home rails, ConCor produced a smaller version of the train in N-scale comprised of the locomotive, two tenders (the second being a rolling water tank), and five cars.
One issue with the set was the engine was a 2-8-4 Berkshire, a fine specimen in its own right, but it wasn't the engine that actually pulled the train which was a 4-8-4 Northern. I wished for many a year to get either the proper engine or buy an undecorated one and have someone custom paint it for me.
However, it was not on my list of priorities until this year when Broadway Limited came out with a proper 4-8-4 T-1 Northern and the correct tender. Plus, it has a DCC decoder with sound and smoke!
I put together this collage so you could see the differences between the Berkshire on top, and the Northern on the bottom.
"The exhibit's main attraction is a large, G-gauge train set complete with a first-class passenger train and a freight train that loop past each other on separate tracks. The trains speed past ten replicas of some of San Francisco's most famous places including the Conservatory of Flowers itself, the Japanese Tea Garden, the Golden Gate Bridge, Mission Dolores, Chinatown's dragon gate, the Transamerica Pyramid building, the Ferry Building, Coit Tower, Ghirardelli Square and the Bently Reserve (formerly the Federal Reserve Building). Surrounding these landmarks is a magical landscape of miniature gardens and parks created with living plants including dwarf conifers, tiny orchids and more. "

Did some more work on this station. Got the widows in which I tinted with some tamiya TS 71 smoke, and put in the protection posts in.

Sunday the 26th was the last day the Gadsden-Pacific Division Toy Train Operating Museum was open before the summer closing. Our grand-nephew and his family came to visit on the three day Memorial Day weekend, so we had an opportunity to take them. I have a feeling we'll be going back once they reopen in the fall.

The Monashee Pacific was a proposed railway in the 1950's that was never built. The Edmonton Model Railway Association, located at Fort Edmonton Park, has created a world where this railway exists. The level of detail is incredible, from the towns, the trains and the people, no minute detail has been omitted. There is even someone taking a crap in the woods with a bear approaching him.
I could have spent days photographing this incredible layout. I have only included the highlights.
The boys seem to have some concerns with the rear of 908 as they are doing the 92 day inspection. Also in and already passed is CP 3747
