View from Ill Bell with some interesting Toblerone-esque rocks in the foreground.. Late afternoon light on Froswick, with the flat profile of High Street beyond and to the right (they used to hold horse races and farmers markets up there apparently).
Froswick proved to be a peak too far on this walk, which started in Windermere. Long day on the fells but an exhilarating one!
I believe Ill Bell got its name from its smooth rounded symmetrical profile which is enhanced by two large cairns on the top.

This adult Sandhill Crane is poised to rapidly descend to land at Creamer's Field during the Sandhill Crane Festival. I find this position to be rather interesting as they can quickly come down without having to flap their wings until they're just ready to touch down and then a couple of flaps just above the ground to brake for a soft landing.

Had a disastrous time... i smashed my phone screen and my laptop decided to wipe itself clean so lost many many thousands of photos in the process. It’s now in the repair shop hoping to recover them all. Luckily most seem to be saved on my one drive however I’ve none from this year so I’m hoping Andy the pc man manages to work a miracle 😱....xx
