Satay is a popular Malaysian and Indonesian (and Southeast Asian) dish consisting of grilled meat on a skewer, served with ketupat or nasi impit (condensed rice cubes), and pieces of raw onion and cucumber. It's usually served with a spicy kuah kachang (peanut gravy) mixed with sambal (red chilli paste).
While satay is usually made from chicken, mutton of beef, one can also occasionally find more unusual varieties like duck, fish, ostrich, innards, etc.
