Inspired by the delicious figs on zandrsmum photostream. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zandrsmum/
I saw figs in the market today and couldn't go past. The best thing about photographing figs? Getting to eat them afterwards!!
This little Chipmunk just sat eating at the edge of the road, had a bit of variety for his breakfast. Watched quite a few Raptors having their breakfast too but since we got up with the sun, it was hard photography for the first hour or so of the day. The Osprey had their fish and the Red-Tailed Hawks their rodents.
I know that butterflies "puddle" in damp mud or sand to get minerals, but this little hackberry emperor was doing it in totally dry sand. He looked pretty funny, dragging his proboscis through the sand, then curling it to pick up a few grains. There's one section of a trail through the woods that I call "Hackberry Haven" because when I walk through there, they're absolutely everywhere. I had seven of them flying around and landing on me while I was shooting this one. ♥

Taken for this week's Macro Monday theme "A Tasty Snack."
This tasty treat contains Pop Rocks, a lollypop, sherbet straws and a piece of peppermint Aero.
And yes I did eat it after the shoot plus more chocolate, honestly who can stop at just one square of chocolate.
