A mix of wildflowers growing near Colorado's newest National Wildlife Refuge, the former Cold War nuke factory Rocky Flats. I've been fairly involved in trying to help plan the area in terms of conservation issues. One of the neatest things in the area is the xeric tallgrass prairie, one of the rarest natural community types in the US, and here in Colorado a relic of the last ice age.
The purple flowers are Gay Feather and the white ones I'm thinking are fleabane for those interested.
SHEPHERD MIX PUPPIES: We have 6 of these adorable puppies, 1 female & 5 males. Some have longer coats, some shorter. All are energetic, social and love to play with each other and with their toys.
These sweet little guys (who will grow up into big guys!!) are looking for homes where they’ll have good exercise, lots of love, and kind obedience training.
The female and one of the males have adoptions pending.
They live in Kennels P2 & P9.

Mixing rescue centre staffies. Me with Tina, Lily-May and Kobe and Owain with Ellie, Lewis and Lucy. Later they were all off lead together proving that Staffordshire Bull Terriers' poor reputation is undeserved. All these dogs are looking for homes.
LAB MIX PUPPIES: There are 5 of these adorable Lab mix puppies, 4 males and 1 female.
These little guys are perky, playful and lots of fun! They love to play with each other, and with their toys, and are very attentive for food treats (they’ll love to go to puppy class!) Though the little girl (the chocolate puppy pictured) is a little shy at first, she warms up with kind handling and encouragement.
These wonderful puppies are looking for loving homes where they’ll have the attention and training they need.
They live in kennel P5 & P8.

I challenged Jude, Dan, Chrispy , and JohnD into a high-school mix tape themed music swap. Rules: no songs past your graduation year, and everything must be broken into C90-friendly 45 minute chunks. I packaged mine in an old floppy sleeve for extra era-appropriate flavor
I wound up leaving a lot of favorite songs from the era on the cutting room floor, opting for a solid and fairly consistent punk & post-punk mix, rather than shooting for broad diversity. (No high school mix tape could be truly representative for me without some King Crimson tracks, and some of 'Electric Ladyland', but oh well.)
Jude has his tracklist posted here. Bonus points to him for being the first get to the Violent Femmes and the Church on there. John earns big props for honesty and ROCKINGNESS for his Billy Squier and Journey (!) selections. Chris scores big with his choice Yes tracks ("It could happen to you, it could happen to me..."). Dan, where are you? :)

World’s highest palace @Lhasa, Tibet. Lhasa (Grounds of the Gods), at 3700m is a vibrant, fast-changing city with a mix of ascendant Chinese modernity set side by side with ancient Tibetan traditions. In the midst of Lhasa city, the gold-clad roofs of the Potala Palace greet you from afar. A palace built by Songstsen Gampo stood on Marpori, the Red Mountain, in the 7th Century. In the 17th Century the 5th Dalai Lama extended the palace to its present size. At this time, it also succeeded in becoming the Dalai Lama's residing place and truned the main political and religious affair. The main construction is divided into two sections, The Red and White palaces. It includes living rooms, temples, funerals stupas and monk dormitories. The countless cultural relics in the palace are images, murals, sutras etc.- important Tibetan cultural relics specially protected. The most splendid and valuable vault is for the 5th Dalai Lama, decorated with four tons of gold, and innumerable diamonds, turquoise, corals and pearls.
Ones has to go thru similar airport x-ray security procedure before allowed entry to the palace. Lighter is a definite no no! - understandably so (fire hazard). Unfortunately, picture is also not allowed once inside.
