Ivan Alecrim teve seu primeiro contato com a fotografia em 2000 e é profissional desde 2004, quando iniciou sua carreira em um jornal do Recife. Durante quatro anos atuou em periódicos da capital pernambucana e, em 2007 fundou a Comuniquê, agência que tem a proposta inovadora de unir todos os segmentos da comunicação em um só portfólio.
Seu projeto mais famoso é o “Novos Olhares Sobre o Mercado de São José”. O resultado de anos de estudos e imagens é um material que segue, ainda, sendo exposto em diversas oportunidades. Tais fotos foram mostradas no festival internacional Brasil Noar, em Barcelona, Espanha, em novembro de 2008, atraindo o interesse de pessoas de todo o mundo para o trabalho desenvolvido entre os boxes do mercado pernambucano. O trabalho também foi exposto na Mostra Recife de Fotografia, que integra a Semana de Fotografia do Recife, ano passado. Além do projeto, outra iniciativa da gerência de fotografia da Comuniquê são os cursos básico e avançado de fotografia, e o fancine, que usa a foto em produções audiovisuais com pouco recursos.
Em sua carreira, o Alecrim contabiliza importantes prêmios no segmento, entre eles, o Cristina Tavares, na categoria estudante; 100 anos de frevo, da Universidade Católica de Pernambuco; Pernambuco Nação Cultural, do Banco Real e Governo do Estado; e o Consigo a Melhor Imagem 2009, na categoria fotojornalismo.

DOBERMAN MIX PUPPIES: There are 4 of these adorable Doberman mix puppies, 2 female & 2 male, about 3 months old. They’re sweet, gentle, social and playful – they love to romp and wrestle with each other :-)

(Uh...this was my attempt at a self-photo. Seriously, how do you people do it? And husband took the nice camera with him today, so this was shot with the four-year-old one. Classy. Maybe I'll re-upload a better picture when husband gets home.)
I really loved this challenge - except it is so hard to decide when pattern mixing opens up so many possibilities! I never would've put these two together before, but I'm kind of loving it.
Also, I can't decide if I like it with or without the headband...the overachiever in me likes the 3rd pattern, but my pragmatic side thinks it's maybe too much...

My Tiny have released various lorries using the Hino 700-series cab. The vast majority of Hinos in the UK are eight-wheelers used for construction duties so this mixer in Hong Kong Concrete livery is most typical of a UK vehicle. Plans for it are uncertain: it may remain a mixer and simply receive an English-language livery, or may be rebodied as a tipper.
Utterly shocking, they left behind the mixing board. These things do not come cheap, probably $15k-$20k, my guess. Why didn't they donate to a college or something? Still sitting here 21 years later.
The Hastings diesel units date back to the late 1950's and were built to Restriction 0 Route Availability with straight slab sides in order to work on the Tonbridge to Hastings line with it's limited clearances. This preserved 6 car set is actually formed of four class 201 vehicles with a class 411 '4-CEP' coach and a class 422 '4-BIG' buffet vehicle marshalled in the middle of the formation. The set is maintained at St Leonards Engineering Limited near Hastings.
On the extreme right hand side of this shot, taken at Brighton, is a class 313 electric multiple unit which dates back to the late 1970's and is used by 'Southern' on local Coastway' services from Brighton.
