Light painting is where my passion for photography began. After 4 years of playing with light I still feel a real buzz when I see the end result. for some time now I have been playing with the insertion of humans into the mix. Although the end result looks simple, the mix of long exposure, dim and bright light sources combined with working in the dark, makes these images quite tricky to achieve.
As with all light painting there is a fine balance between the actual light source used and the background. Mixing this with a person who needs to stay reasonably still and some form of flash (if needed) can be a frustrating mix. The top image here was a very long exposure with only light source being the light painting tool. The "subjects" had to remain incredibly still so there was no blur at all. We were at a Yoga Meditation retreat so they were pretty chilled anyway which helped. As you can see a couple of them had eyes open, which must have made it a pretty spooky experience.
In the other two images I have used another light source to give a beautiful soft light over the ladies. But they still had to be pretty still. The end result is an almost mystical look.
It is important to remember that these effects are achieved with absolutely very little manipulation in post production (no pixels are added or removed) and are a single exposure.
I am being asked for this effect in more of my commercial work, which is really exciting and certainly makes me happy that a passion from my personal work is bridging into my commercial work.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1/4 cup vanilla-flavored instant creamer (dry)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened instant tea (dry)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
DIRECTIONS:
1. In small bowl, mix dry milk, creamer and powdered sugar. In another small bowl, mix all remaining ingredients. Spoon milk and tea mixtures alternately into 8-ounce jar, packing lightly.
2. Include these directions on package: For each serving, place 1/4 cup Chai Mix in cup. Fill with 8 ounces very hot water. For creamier chai, use half milk and half water. Makes 4 servings.

Here is a mix of NYPD Highway Patrol's auxiliary units and standard HP units. This is at Highway Patrol Unit 3 in Queens, NY. The biggest post HWY has. HWY 3 holds the NYPD's horses and most of the motors for HWY.
A range (mix) of items used to fix a variety (mixture) of materials such as wood, metal, paper, fabrics, plastics and electronics.

Bem, eu consegui :D Dia 03/03 tenho que estar na Wayne State University em Detroit, Michigan. Tô usando esse tempo pra resolver tudo. E é MUITA COISA, gente. Tô de cabelo em pé já.
