Mix & Match

This video “MIX 8” is another selection of images, both graphic, design and Photographic. The idea is to show the range of styles and techniques from right across my wide range of styles. It is followed in my Photostream by individual images taken from the video, but shown as single images at full size. These will appear on my photostream spread over the following week.

I've composed a year mix as my Christmas gift to YOU - a 60 min mix with just about 40 songs - I tried to touchdown on almost every popular genre/track of this great year. American film actor Tom Mix (1880-1940) was the star of many early Westerns between 1909 and 1935. Mix appeared in 291 films, all but nine of which were silent movies. He was Hollywood's first Western megastar and helped to define the genre for all cowboy actors who followed.

Thomas Hezikiah Mix was born in Mix Run, Pennsylvania, in 1880. From 1906 till 1909, he was in a series of Wild West shows, such as The Miller Bros. Wild West Show, with wife Olive Mix in Seattle's Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition; and Will A. Dickey's Circle D Ranch. The latter supplied Selig Pictures with cowboys and Indians for movies and, in 1910, Mix was hired by Selig to provide and handle horses. His first film was Ranch Life in the Great Southwest (Francis Boggs, 1910). He continued with Selig until 1917, writing and directing as well as acting. He was signed by Fox Films in 1917 and remained with them until 1928, averaging five films a year. His popularity eclipsed all other great cowboy stars (Hoot Gibson and even the legendary William S. Hart) of the silent era and he earned - and spent - millions.

Tom Mix was the king of the cowboys during the 1920s. He developed a comical style, emphasizing fast action thrills to a greater extent than had been common in earlier Westerns, and he did his own stunts. In addition to Mix's riding and shooting skills, the films also showcased the talents of his amazing horse, Tony the Horse. Sound and encroaching middle age were not favorable to Mix. While Mix was a great showman, the combination of the Depression and the high overhead of his traveling shows conspired against his success. He left the film industry after the serial, The Miracle Rider (B. Reeves Eason, Armand Schaefer, 1935) made for Mascot Pictures. It was a huge hit for the small studio, grossing over $1 million. Tom Mix died in an auto accident in 1940. He remained popular on radio and in comic books for more than a decade after his death.

I found her in a department store today. Couldn't resist buying this doll because her face is so unbelievable perfect (which is sadly rare these days). Even her head appears a bit smaller and slender than usual.

Soo I decided to re dress Alison and Kayla in the new 2011 liv outfits I got BUT I didnt like how the outfits were put toghethor so i deicded to do some mix and match stuff :3 tell me what you think

For Amanda's quilt. I used a template from Pepper Stitches for the embroidery, and free-handed the title: Wonky Bee 2013 Mix.

Apelidei de Mix'n Match Itaú, porque né, não preciso explicar ahuiahuiahuia

Eu tentei (e acho que consegui) fazer uma mix'n match dupla, tipo usar o mesmo acabamento nas duas mãos, mas de cores invertidas :)

Usei 423 esmaltes:

Essence - Wake up! (cremoso laranja)

OPI - Jinx (liquid sand laranja)

Revlon - Orange Pop (metálico laranja)

Jade - Joy (glass fleck laranja)

Lush Lacquer - Razzmatazz (glitter azul e vermelho)

Capricho - Electric Blues (metálico azul)

OPI - Get Your Number (liquid sand azul)

OPI - DS Magic (glass flecks azul)

Essie - Mesmerize (cremoso azul)

UFA, finally.

This one's for my daughter, who mentioned it was time to mix it up as the roses were getting a little boring ;))

This is a beautiful old home on the River Aven in Pont Aven, Brittany, France. One of the most beautiful towns I've been lucky enough to visit. Taken three years ago with a crappy little point and shoot; photoshop and great textures by Distressed Jewell fixed it up. Definitely better viewed large.

Miniature mixing bowls

Cm não pude ir para o encontrinho em Sampa , fiquei inventando arte em casa. Nunca mais tinha feito um Mix'n Match e curti o resultado. Não tá assim tãaaao elaborado, mas ficou fofinho e discreto.

Usei o Eletro Night (sand Anita) (obrigada de novo, MH!), Canto dos Pássaros (Impala) e essa película q eu não me lembro mais onde comprei.
