Personal project in Cinema 4D based on the japanese guiding principle "Nana korobi ya oki" („Fall down seven times, get up eight times“). The animation is about not being afraid of mistakes but rather seeing failure as an opportunity to learn from and to have the courage to accept challenges. Only such an attitude enables the practising to gain experience.

Trip to visit Jen the Pomm in Norwich in the coldest January ever, with a walk on the Norfolk beach in the snow

As an intro to CNC I have my students do an exercise where they engrave something on a piece of aluminum. Most of them write their name, but this young lady wanted to write an expression that her mother often uses. On the first iteration she made a mistake. Kinda funny.

It was slippery on top of the roof, i almost busted my ass a couple of times but in the process i got this. Kinda hot!

Just uploading older pictures from last year, hopefully next week since ill be on spring break Ill be able to get out and get some pictures. I haven't in a while and it makes me sad. I cant wait to get out again!

I was inspired by wenjomatic's Bamboo Stitch Dishcloth to try the Bamboo Stitch, but something went wrong and my knit started decreasing.

I actually like how this mistake looks and give me an idea on how to top a cap I may knit in the future.

A costly mistake... At $70 per door, and I ruined two before I realized my error. I forgot to allow for the Inset panel (at 3/16-inch) when selecting screws to mount the doors on cross braces. That brings my 'Cock-up Account' up to $200 in a couple of months (don't ask). Copyright © 2023 Gary Allman, all rights reserved.

maybe. I don't know.

The first thing I think of when people talk about lemons is the face I make when I try to eat one whole. You know the tight, puckered lips and squinted eyes. I’m a big wuss when it comes to sour things. I basically have no tolerance for it at all. You’d think that means … healthpined.info/drinking-lemon-water-every-morning-the-m...

Nuestros deseos y esperanzas están aquí. Conspiremos para prender fuego, a todas las almas que morirían sólo para sentirse vivas. Estaré buscando la luz, hasta el final de mi vida, aunque no se si vale la pena...

Our hopes and expectations are here Let’s conspire to ignite, all the souls that would die just to feel alive. I will be chasing a light, until the end of my life, althought I don’t know if it’s worth it more...

I started decorating with only a vague idea of wanting to do dotted scrolls, similar to the ones on the side of this cake.

I scratched some guidelines into the icing using a toothpick. This resulted in terrible curves, as the toothpick was not a good tool. Then I got worse curves when I decided to try some solid lined scrollwork. The whole thing was such a disheartening mess that I wasn't sure if I should just scrape it all off and start over. I figured I should photograph my mistake before making that decision. I ultimately decided to try and cover the mistakes instead.

In future, I will draw out a design on paper before I start on the cake. Improvised cake decorating is not always advisable. Lesson learned.
