by FAR my very, very favorite mistake on my first Holga roll: two shots that overlapped into one. Both were taken downtown Asbury Park, an unintentional (and awesome) diptych.
i may be located at the foot of the Broadway Bridge on the Marble Hill (Bronx) side of the Harlem Ship Canal. then again, i may be impaled by a poplar branch on the drive up.

A mistake that turned into something special. I neglected to change the shutter speed from a previous shot and this was the result.

I leave in under two days. One month in Brazil and I'm not off book for the lines or songs for understudy narrator. Friends from the circus just got into town, one of which is leaving this week. She and I had an almost relationship that blossomed from a friendship. Unfortunately at that time I was - get this - actually recently comfortable with being single on the circus at last and decidedly not looking for a girlfriend, as I felt I wasn't in a position to be a good boyfriend. Not because I'm an abusive ass or anything, but perhaps something akin to being a butterfly fresh from the chrysalis whose wings are not yet dry enough to fly. As a person and a man, I am nonstop awesome, kick ass boyfriend material. I just felt that it was more important to not toss away that new comfortability until I enjoyed it and got used to it. That decision, though difficult, proved to be a good one, as I can return to that place a lot more easily, and have done so many times. In fact, I have set up shop there and have had my utilities on ther for a long time. All else is essentially a vacation, given my nomadic lifestyle. Now that we'd both be ready emotionally for something beyond friendship and comfort, our lives are not intersecting geographically. That's the story of my life for almost the last decade.

Once again, my favorite grocery store has another mistake on a sign. My husband pointed out that the clementines own $5.99 each. He thought those were some very rich fruits.
Mistakes all rolled up ready to become something else. I was going for a flower-ish design, but it looked all wrong and ugly. I tried again with spirals of blues and whites with a little purple, and covered a small jar with it, but I didn't take a picture of that yet.
The got Czechoslovakia, but misspelled "platoon".

O.K...........This is actually two photos. I was saving my 7x5 photo paper in the darkroom and was printing two 3x2 photos on each sheet and I forgot to turn the paper around after the first photo......
