Continuing our miniature Oribana project... and here is another artwork for the miniature version of our Oribana composition called SOLO.
The starring vase is Yuri's design called Solo, hence the name of the composition. The flower design is my Solo-Lily, a special kind of an imaginary bloom :-)
The vase is just 4 cm high, 1-3/4 inches, and the whole arrangement is 4 inches high (10 cm).
Used wonderful hand-made Japanese paper Moriki Kozo for the flowers, classic origami paper for the greens and some silvery designers paper for the vase.

This Book of Hours was created ca. 1440 in Hainaut for a female patron with Cistercian connections, which is suggested by long devotional sequences focused on the Passion of Christ and the Virgin, including indulgences, a litany with Cistercian affiliation, and various references to a female suppliant. Two devotional texts written by various scribes in Latin and French were added to the front and back of the book ca. 1450-1600. At the end of the front devotional text, on fol. 6v, there are sewing holes and strong impressions of a variety of pilgrim badges. The manuscript contains eight full-page miniatures, five of which were at some point protected by pieces of gauze that have been removed and are now in the WAM file.

"Eye miniatures", where one eye of the sitter was painted, were all the rage from 1790 to 1810. Most were tiny and set as brooches. This one has tears made out of little diamonds.
The latest additions to my miniature series, some taken in Malapascua and a few from Mabul and Sipadan.
I got some new vintage dollhouse furniture, so I played around with photos :)

The model is worth the price of admission unfortunately the rest of the “museum” is a disorganized mess. It’s a shame there is a lot of potential there.
The commentary from a “guide” who hated the Kennedy family, having a particular dislike for Jackie, and adored the Trumps did not in any way make the visit more enjoyable.
“The House of Presidents proved successful and remained in operation under the original concept until the 1990s, when John and Jan Zweifel purchased it. John Zweifel had been creating miniatures of historic sites since childhood; after his marriage to Jan in 1959, the couple built a business that crafted Christmas displays for major department stores in Chicago and other cities, as well as exhibits for various clients. They moved to Central Florida in the 1970s. As the new owners of the House of Presidents, the Zweifels added a massive scale model of the White House that became the museum’s new centerpiece. They also gave the attraction a new name – the Presidents Hall of Fame – to mark their expanded concept.”
The Rhyl Miniature Railway is a 15 in gauge miniature railway line located in Rhyl on the North Wales Coast. The line runs in a circle around a boating lake near the promenade, to the west of the town centre.
