This is my old Mini Mayfair... this took many years to get back on the road, but sadly had to be sold a few years ago. I really miss this car.
There were off and on thunderstorms today which I had been watching through my window while processing photos and stuff. I have been wanting to try to do some strobist work in the rain and decided to give it a shot when the next storm rolled through.
The rain wasn't as heavy as I wanted, and it died down once I got set up and backed my MINI out. I had to use the hose to spray more water into the shot and hope that the flash would bring out the droplets. This photo is comprised of 2 main images with the strobe on the left, then the right, but I compiled a few extra because the water would look better in certain spots each shot.
I don't believe this is a portfolio piece, but it is a building block in the overall learning process and something new I wanted to try. Hopefully this inspires someone else or something comes out of it.
Strobist info:
-Vivitar 285hv 1/2 camera left and camera right. (bare strobe, large ziplock freezer bag over it to keep everything dry!)
Made a little mini quilt! I wanted to play around more with black & white fabrics mixed with regular prints. I like how this one turned out. I actually even sewed the binding to the back by hand! I normally just machine sew it, but you know how that is, never turns out looking right.
I had a lot of fun with this one!
This mini is awesome!! The covers are counter top samples from my local hardware store (recycle!!) and inside...well there's lots! I used the following to fill up this mini with 20+ pages that include:
~beautiful double sided card stock
~library cards
~paint samples
~cork (I know...cork!!!!)
~tags
~corrugated cardboard
All held together with a binder ring, so you can even add more pages to it.
I put a blank label on the front so you can fill in with whatever your heart desires; lists, notes, addresses or heart's desires, lol!!!
Would make a great little scrapbook, too!
