Mini Miglias are highly modified classic Minis running 1293cc A series engines. Weighing just 660kg, they reach 60mph in an incredible 4.5 seconds and top out at 125mph. Running on slick Dunlop tyres and with the driver positioned in the middle of the cockpit, they are like mini touring cars.
On may way home from Nutley, I found this original British-made and British-engineered Mini (with left-hand drive!) parked in a driveway along Watchung Avenue in the Brookdale section of Bloomfield, New Jersey.
The Mini, in production throughout the sixties and seventies, became as much a symbol of the United Kingdom in the '60s as the Beatles and James Bond. The Mini had a sport version engineered by John Cooper, predating the Golf GTI by about a decade.

I have a very small house that once had a too-large laundry room. After I organized my garage making space for all the stuff I had stored in this room, it was time for a remodel. I hired a plumber to relocate the hot water tank and the washer/drier unit in the garage. This left the old plumbing hookups - so why not install a sink? Not much space for a bed here - so I cut a hole in the wall and built a "sleeping pod" out into the garage. Very fun and cozy! Now I have a guest bedroom if you want to come and stay a few days.
