Ireland has some really gorgeous beaches and this one is no exception. I choose to take my clients here mainly due to the lovely rock formations that are present and having found this wonderful secluded section of the beach, we set to work capturing the scene with a panorama option.
This image consists of seven vertical images stitched together in Photoshop CC. I felt that it was important to allow the beach to breathe and not hem in the rocks. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the area.

WOW, I seriously love this location. The hugely impressive 454 metre Vestrahorn meets the North Atlantic Ocean while a black volcanic sandy beach lies in wait at its base.complete with wonderful yellow grasses top the sand dunes opposite.
I ventured here yesterday morning (Mon 6th March 2017) and I spent a thoroughly enjoyable two hours walking up and down the beach looking for winning compositions as well as filming a brand new video for my Youtube channel.

Well, after spending the morning going through some post processing techniques in the hotel on my laptop with my six clients, we ventured out after the rain slowed down.
Our first port of call was Scalepay and an abandoned croft house before I made the decision to head to the gorgeous Small Beach on the west cost of Harris. The weather radar app suggested that the rain would stop at 3pm and it was absolutely correct.
The sea was angry today with large waves hurtling themselves onto the beach which ensured that more than one of us arrived back at the hotel with wet wellies but what a sight we witnessed. The colour arrived in the sky and what with some fantastic clouds floating by, the scene was set for a great sunset and we were not to be disappointed.
So here's a shot looking over towards Luskentyre and the hills in the background and the island of Taransay on your left (the island that the BBC choose for the TV show Castaway in 2000, starring Ben Fogle).

WOW, what a sunrise Simon (my 1-2-1 tuition day client) and I was treated to this morning especially considering the weather forecast did not predict this. We wandered down to the shoreline and once we saw the colour, we walked a tad quicker to get set up by these two piers which I do love and have shot so many times before.
The pinks and blues that grew in the sky excited me like a child on Christmas morning and it was great for us both to capture it on camera. It just goes to show that the more often you make the effort, the more chance you have of being rewarded :D
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend folks :D

One of my favourite places in the world. This wonderful iconic and pretty well known wooden jetty looks towards Catbells and Causey Pike in the distance offering some outstanding views.
I have photographed this pier more times than I can remember yet I never tire of doing so. Here's an image I captured back in early April this year while on a 1-2-1 with Paul, a new client of mine.
I hope you all like it and it is available as a print should anyone wish to purchase one. Contact me for more details.

In landscape photography, there are moments that will stay with you forever and this particular evening will definitely do that. Having spent the day wandering around Glenorchy, it was time to pull up to the small lay-by by the road (six cars max) and shoot sunset from Bennett's Bluff, as is customary when staying in Queenstown it seems.
Imagine my excitement when the colours started to build ahead of me with the clouds turning the most stunning shades of pink and orange. Oh my word, I was in seventh heaven. The sight of the snow capped peaks underneath such an incredible sunset will stay with me forever.

I led a two day workshop to Northumberland a couple of weeks back and one of my 'hidden' gems that I take my clients too (well was hidden, now slightly less so now that I've told you all, lol) is this wonderful little building.
Called the Powder House, it was built in 1886 and was created to store the gunpowder in that was used to blow up the nearby land to create the harbour. It's isolated position was chosen because in the event of an accidental explosion, nobody would get hurt.
It used to be open and was a really handy base to be near in the event of a decent rain storm as it allowed around six people and their tripods to stand inside until the weather cleared but it appears that there is now a metal gate on it preventing access which is such a shame. Nonetheless it makes a wonderful subject to photograph, especially during a seriously high tide (5.7 metres) when the water rolls in around the base of the rocks as you can see here.
I will be running more workshops to Northumberland next year. If you wish to be notified of my workshops first (ahead of the general public), feel free to sign up to my FREE newsletter mailing list. You won't be badgered by daily post, just relevant emails from time to time.

Evening everyone. Tonight's image is a throw back to mid-March this year when en-route to Harris and Lewis to run my week long workshop in the Outer Hebrides, we stopped off via Rannoch Moor.
The conditions were sublime. Icy, snow, cold conditions everywhere and the views were just staggering.
So here is a image made up of six vertical shots stitched together in Photoshop CC. Glencoe really is a special place in the winter months.

FOUR DAY LAKE DISTRICT AUTUMN WORKSHOP
Tues 31st October - Fri 3rd November 2017 £795
www.melvinnicholsonphotography.co.uk/product/lake-distric...
I took this photo today during the final day of my three-day workshop I was running in the Lake District. My clients were setting up their shots in the wonderfully titled Grotto which is the stone building you see on the right in this photo. I saw that the conditions were perfect for a quick shot to the left of the stone grotto.
The colour of the moss was luminous green and the redness of the dried leaves that littered was just magical. I had not choice but to grab the shot while I could. I used a LEE 105mm Landscape Polariser to cut through the white reflections of the sky on the water allowing the beautiful lush green colour of the water to shine through. This is one of my favourite shots from this location.
Anyhow, I hope you all like it. Have a great evening and feel free to SHARE as usual if you wish :D

Mary's Shell is a wonderful art sculpture located on the beach in Cleveleys. High tide was due at 3.35am which allowed me plenty of time to set up at 2am and wait for the incoming tide to surround the base of the sculpture.
I experimented with various compositions and shutter speeds ranging from just two seconds to thirty. The lovely warm glow of the lights to my left emanated from the street lights but I do not mind the inclusion of the light pollution for it helps to give the sky a lovely warmth about it.

I spent five hours on the wonderful mountain of Stac Pollaidh in the gorgeous area of Assynt. Thed weather was typically Scottish but the only way to shoot drama is to live it. Be out on the mountains when others are in the pub, at work or anything else other than shooting the Scottish scenery.

If there's one thing that I love about Queenstown (and there are many), it is the joy in discovering small, cosy coves and bays that are dotted all along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu. When you find a beautiful little bay, visit it at sunrise and get rewarded with crazy colours, well that just lifts me for the rest of the day.

What a beautiful sight to behold on rounding a long bend in the road during my week in Ireland earlier this month. I spotted wonderful grey church that was set back from the main road on my right-hand side. I felt compelled to stop and shoot it. It turned out to be the Church of the Sacred Heart in Dunlewey. It had a round tower attached to the left-hand side of the main body of the church with lovely tall slim windows. It stood tall and proud and looked resplendent in the early morning light.
There were so many stunning scenes in Ireland that I cannot wait to return in September for my five-day workshop I am running. Want more details? Click on the link below.

This image was captured this afternoon during some really difficult weather conditions. Today was by some margin the wettest and windiest I have shot in for some time and Tony Higginson thought the same.
We ventured down from Bamburgh to Seaham to shoot Chemical Beach. This beach has some incredibly impressive viewpoints from which to capture the sea stack from but in the end I settled on this rather small cave. It was large enough to allow me in on my own with my tripod. I love how the cave frames the seastack itself.

I awoke this morning around 4am and contemplated an early start on the road to head to Mangart (nearly two hours away) or head down to Lake Bled for a lovely sunrise. I choose Lake Bled and thank heavens that I did.
I arrived at 6.30am, forty minutes before sunrise and immediately set up my Canon EOS R camera to film 90 minutes of timelapse (it's the very first job that I do when arriving on location).
There was no mist on arriving and with cloud cover all around, I figured that this sunrise was going to be another bust but within minutes, the mist rolled in and abundance. It was everywhere and it at times, completely consumed the gorgeous church on the island of Lake Bled.
I stood for two hours being completely mesmerised at what I was seeing. Sure, there was no pre-sunrise colour in the sky as such, but the mist was so ethereal and atmospheric, that I did not care.
Watch my timelapse and experience what I saw this morning. Enjoy. Slovenia is surprising me more and more with each passing day :D

Focus-stacked shot of a cool ice crack at Preacher’s Point in Alberta, Canada. I had a hard time keeping myself on the top of the crack. I kept sliding down thrice and then had to ungracefully army crawl back up.
Captured during my four day workshop in Glencoe last November and while standing at the famous little waterfall at the foot of Stob Dearg at sunset, this stunning sun ray flooded the Glen Etive valley ahead of us.
WOW what a sight. I hope you all like it too.

Well, this was one of my highlights during my week in Ireland and Northern Ireland early May. I love beaches and rock formations and this gem of a place is just around the corner from Dunquin Pier, a fantastic place to spend an hour to two all by itself.
I had the pleasure of photographing this beach with friends Graham Daly and Dominic Bryne on this occasion but we all came away with a different shot. This one is a panorama of six vertical images stitched together in Photoshop CC. I will confess to having cloned out a few footprints but the beauty of the beach speaks for itself.
I will be organising and advertising a five day workshop down on the Wild Atlantic Way (west coast) of Ireland shortly to take place March time 2018. Dates to be decided shortly.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy admiring this view as much as I did whilst standing there. Have a great weekend everyone.

Sunrays, Grizedale Forest, Lake District
Atmosphere. Emotion. Soul. The key ingredients I try to include in my images although that is not always possible. But when an opportunity presents itself, you must grab it with both hands and on this one very, very cold November afternoon while walking through the stunningly beautiful Grizedale Forest in the Lake District, this scene just opened up before me and like a child on Christmas morning, the camera and tripod became one within a matter of seconds.
I love everything about this image. The composition, the lighting, colour, elements within the image itself, everything. I could not better it today if I tried and that is why it has become my most favourite image I have captured to date.
Question is. What's yours?

Something a little different from me but I simply could not resist photographing this amazing scene as a huge storm raced over us at the Quiraing on Tuesday. I quickly positioned myself at the edge of the tall cliff and set up the camera in record time knowing that an almighty amount of water was about to hit and I was right.
The rain drove in diagonally from the right and the light in the background became beautifully defused whilst the harshness of the granite rock in the foreground took centre stage. You can see the rain driving in front of the rock.
Quite an amazing time to be shooting at this most wonderful of locations in Skye.

I am running a seven night, landscape photography northern lights workshop in Lofoten, Norway 7th-14th Nov 2019 £1,495. Click the link for more details.

This is perhaps one of my top three favourite images captured in Lofoten last week. It is such a simple image but I love it.
It was my first visit to Lofoten during the winter months and I loved it. This year in particular has seen a tremendous amount of snow (according to locals) and this afforded me so many compositions and opportunities to capture some wonderful images like this open fisherman's cabin.
It is located by the wooden cod racks that are situated next to the main car park at Ã… right at the very end of the road that takes you down and through Lofoten. I wandered around for the most interesting composition and I am delighted with how this one came out.
I am putting together a YouTube video that I filmed in Lofoten. I hope to have it ready for tonight as I head off to Skye in the morning to run my winter workshop followed by Harris and Lewis the week after (there are places available for Harris & Lewis if anyone is interested).

Throwback Thursday
Today I am sharing an image that I took way back in late 2010 whilst visiting the gorgeous Greek island of Crete. I had only been shooting two and a half years when I visited Crete. On this particular morning, I ventured out early, a good couple of hours before sunrise, in fact, to get to know the harbour of Chania a bit better before the sun rose. This lovely old boat (which has since been completely flattened by a winter storm sadly) made the perfect subject to shoot. A memorable trip that leaves me wanting to return again soon.

I visited Elgol yesterday afternoon with my six clients and I was after finding the 'Joe Cornish' boulder. Not with any intention of photographing it because the tide was out and I have only ever really seen images of it surrounded by water but on finally finding the spherical boulder, I was impressed with the look of the scene.
The surrounding rocks and the lovely little ridged cliff on the right set the scene for what I thought was a beautiful view so I decided to capture it on camera. I explained my process to a couple of my clients before they decided to take their own version of the scene.
Elgol rarely disappoints. Come rain or shine, the place oozes atmosphere and mystery. I hope you enjoy the photo.

This image was captured on New Year's Day morning 2018 during a challenging morning's weather but it was definitely worth hanging in there. When the rainbow appeared, I immediately moved into position and fired off a couple of shots before it disappeared.
That's the thrill of shooting landscapes for me, having such a short amount of time sometimes to photograph fleeting moments of such stunning scenes.

At 1.30am this morning, I returned from two glorious days photographing the Dorset coastline with two clients of mine, Ken and Les. Thursday was to be the first day of two and the weather was stunning. Really interesting skies and cloud formations with huge bursts of sunlight flooding through them lighting up everything in its path.
I suggested that we take the thirty minute drive from Lulworth Cove where we had spent a few hours climbing the hills surrounding the cove, to Swanage to photograph this lovely old pier. They thankfully took my advice and on arriving, we found the conditions to be absolutely perfect. I have never visited this pier during the winter months when the dive pontoon that is normally attached to the pier, is taken out of the water and stored nearby. Shooting the pier between March/April and October is a waste of time as you never get the pier on its own.
So I was keen as mustard to get down and attempt to capture it the way that my mind imagined. Knowing that the sun was setting behind us, I knew that the sunlight would light up the wood a treat and I was not to be disappointed. I thought that I would do a little research on the history of the pier.
Here is what I found courtesy of The Dorset Rambler.
This is the original Swanage Pier that was opened in 1861 in order to serve the quarrying industry. Stone would be brought to Swanage from the coastal quarries and a pier was needed in order to offload this stone from the ships. Originally a tramway ran along this pier so that trucks could be used to transport the stone inland – the rails are still in place along the sea front paths. With the coming of a passenger steam service to Poole and Bournemouth, a second pier was needed and this was built in the late 19th century.
Due to a combination of the new pier and a declining stone industry, the old pier fell into disrepair, so much so that all you see today are the wooden piles that remain jutting out of the water. What was once a busy and active pier, has become nothing more than a resting place for gulls…….oh, and a huge magnet for photographers.
You can read more here..........https://thedorsetrambler.com/tag/swanage/
I hope you enjoy the image :D

WOW, WOW, and WOW again. Scotland is truly one of my favourite countries in the world for landscape/seascape photography. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Here's another fresh edit from my week spent on Lewis and Harris back in January. Imagine having walked up and over several coastal bays in high winds and challenging weather with 200 ft drops down to the ocean for company only to eventually (30 minute) arrive at a truly stunning natural sea arch. Well this is what happened to me that afternoon.
I had seen a photo of this arch some time ago and added it to my list of places to shoot little did I realise just how amazing it really was. Standing on the edge of 150ft cliff edge with huge waves pounding up against the wall below you with the accompanying sound of a deafening thud which scares the shit out of you whenever you hear it, so much so that you look down to be sure that it;s not actually going to come and sweep you off the cliff.
The wind was so fierce that I never really let go of the tripod and the camera bag wasn't safe either. These are the times of my life when I feel truly invigorated and focused on what I am doing that it's hard not to feel as one with nature and all of your daily struggles and troubles fall into the background. If they didn't, you might just pay a heavy price.
So here's my take on the amazing Stac a' Phris, a natural sea arch that takes your breath away. I hope you all enjoy looking at it as much I did photographing it :D

WOW, this stunning black volcanic sandy beach is one of Iceland's top tourist attractions if not THE main one and you can see why.
Huge icebergs drop off the glacier and into the lagoon before they slowly make there way under the road bridge and out into the Atlantic ocean before being thrown onto the beach ready to be photographed by millions of photographers. Except this time round a couple of weeks ago, there was not too many shooters on hand and we were able to walk around the various gorgeous glistening icebergs that sit idly on the beach until the next big wave comes in and repositions them.
Here is an image I captured during the last throws of light for the day before driving back to Vik for the night. As tough as Iceland was to get around due to the huge snow blizzards, 90mph winds and numerous road closures, the scenery was outstanding and I never wanted to leave once my week finished.

WOW, WOW, WOW. This is a fully edited image of the one I posted last night that I took with my mobile phone, All I can say is WOW.
I arrived on location 10.30pm to find a couple of other photographers shooting but they soon went which left me all alone for a while until a group of cracking Irish fellas and a girl arrived along with a lady who flew in from New York for just one day with her photography guide before jetting off again (isn't that mental?).
Where this photograph was concerned, I had to be a little creative with regards to lighting because on arrival you notice a powerful white spotlight in the corner of the cemetery which lit up the church far too harshly and bright. So I wrapped a towel around it to block the light which allowed me to light up the church using nothing more than three seconds of my LED Lenser headtorch. This allowed me to shoot the scene for 30 seconds while not burning out the church, especially those white door and windows.
The aurora came and went but this was towards the end of the evening for me as it came out for a final showing and boy did it finish in style. People around me were mesmerised as was I and it truly is the eighth wonder of the world and until you see them for yourself, words and photos cannot do justice.

After a hot day slaving over a computer (finalising my end of year accounts for my accountant), I felt the need to venture out just down the road with my camera last night. It was something that I felt I needed rather than I wanted.
So on arriving in Lytham around 8pm, I went for a wander along the shoreline of the estuary and I noticed a partially submerged sailing boat as the incoming tide was doing its best to hide it from view and within forty minutes, it did just that but it was this boat that piqued my interest.
It was perfectly positioned to have the boat flow through the frame diagonally from bottom right to the upper left. The sun was setting much further round to the right and out of view but I had hoped that some colour would show itself but alas, it sadly did not so I did the best job that I could.
Now, I will confess to slightly cheating with this image or as I like to call it, 'ingenuity', lol. You see, in waiting for the water to come in and surround the boat, it would have the boat rock from side to side a little as the water hit the bow. However, It was my desire to shoot the scene at around 30 seconds so as to soften the water completely and create a still, calm and peaceful image.
Of course, shooting a long exposure image would have the boat move in the frame so I took two shots. A quick static shot at just half a second (to have the boat sharp) and the 30 second shot for the soft, milky water. I then simply cloned the sharp static boat over the moving boat in the long exposure image and here is the result. Ironically there was almost no movement in the clouds so they look as though they were shot quickly too but they're the ones shot at 30 seconds.
I opted to edit the image in a vintage feel in Nik Analogue FX (a plugin piece of software in Photoshop CC), which colourised and reduced the contrast a fair bit. I rarely edit images this way but I think it's the perfect subject for such treatment.

This is one of my favourite waterfalls in Iceland, mainly due to its remote location, the fact that it is not signposted or visible from the roadside and also because the colour of the water that runs from the base of the waterfall is spectacular.
I awoke early on the Wednesday morning of the 15th March 2017. It was the last full day of my eight-day workshop I was running in Iceland (with Tony Higginson co-leading). I decided to take my eight clients to this wonderful waterfall during sunrise so that we would have a better chance of having the place to ourselves before the odd tour bus arrives.
I wasn't banking on there being a fresh layer of snow overnight but that merely added to the excitement of visiting the waterfall. We all jumped into the two rental 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers and we ventured off the main roads to the location. We were the first one on the scene with the only footprints in the snow belonging to animals. What an amazing experience for me and everyone involved.
We arrived at the wooden bridge that spans the river from which the photo was taken from. This bridge bounces a little when people are walking on it plus it is quite narrow meaning tripods are limited when the place is busy. However, for the entire 90 minutes that we were there, we did not see another living soul. We had the whole place to ourselves. Now how many other people can say that they had a gorgeous waterfall all to themselves during sunrise? Exactly.
The colour of the water is genuine. It is beyond stunning and the whirlpool that swirls near the base of the base is fantastic to see also. Throw into the mix a bit of snow and a brooding sky and the scene was set for a bit of magic to be captured on camera. Definitely one of the highlights of my workshop.

I took this image on Saturday during my one day workshop that I was leading at Ullswater and Martindale. The views from the top of Hallin Fell were spectacular and the lightly snow tipped fells in the distance and the heavy set skies above added to the sense of drama.
I knew straight away on location that the image would be converted to black and white. I even shot it in black and white although only the JPEG remains black and white whilst the raw file always remains in colour. I like to see on the back of the screen what it will look like once home and edited.
For those wanting to visit the area themselves to capture this glorious scene on camera, here is a little bit of info for you to assist you.
Park in the free car park opposite the Parish Church of St Peter at Martindale (copy and paste the coordinates into Google Maps)
Coordinates 54.564867, -2.874227
Postcode CA10 2NF
Walk up the hill (20 mins) to this point
Coordinates 54.570386, -2.882966
Best time of the day to shoot, early to mid morning when the sun rises to your left and hopefully floods the valley of Martindale with rays of light.
I hope you found that useful and thanks for stopping by and saying hi.

Yesterday morning, I took my six clients to the world famous Luskentyre Beach for sunrise despite the weather forecast predicting clouds and possible showers. Now I know most workshop leaders seek to take their clients to this stunning beach during a glorious sunset but I wanted to try something a little different.
We arrived on location and walked around half a mile or so to get into position. I wanted the pre-dawn colours in the sky to reflect in the water with some waves swooshing by underneath them. I got that shot but I wanted to share this one instead for now as this was the scene behind me (people will often tell you to look behind as there is often a view worth capturing).
I loved the dark, foreboding sky as it rolled by menacingly while the gorgeous white water drifted in and out around my feet. I decided to shoot the scene in portrait mode, something I like to do often in the landscape and using a shutter speed of just 1/3 of a second, I knew that the water would be smooth enough to look almost romantic yet still retain an awful lot of its detail. To this end I am delighted with the outcome.
I hope you all like it too.

Six Day Dolomites Landscape Photography Workshop
5th - 11th Oct 2019 - £1795
melvinnicholsonphotography.co.uk/product/dolomites-italy-...
I am sat here at my computer on a Saturday evening reminiscing as I look through the images I captured in the Dolomites back in October. That really was such a beautiful part of the world to discover and quite easily one of my favourite countries that I have visited this year
After a long day out with the camera with my five clients, we all enjoyed a meal in the guesthouse restaurant after which on the way back to my hotel, I decided to make the thirty minute journey to the gorgeous Lago di Antorno.
i thought that I would spend an hour photographing the stars above the surrounding mountains and what a joy it was too. The reflections were just stunning and the stars shone like diamonds.
I cannot wait to return to run my six day workshop next October. If you would like to join me, there are only three places from the six available. Click on the link at the top of this post for more details.

I hope you're all having a great weekend.

Wow, what a morning this was as I neared the end of my mammoth 26 day tour of the UK. Dragging my backside out of my stripped out minibus/makeshift campervan gets more and more difficult after you have done 17 sunrise shoots in the previous 22 days but when the light and colour is as good as this, how could I complain really?
I really enjoyed shooting the pier at Cromer as I felt it offered me plenty of compositions on both sides of it and the surrounding promenade walls have enough interest in their shapes and curves to contribute but it was the sun streaming through and under the pier legs that excited me. I waited until a large wave rose and lined up with the ray of light so that it illuminated the white foam beautifully.
A short exposure time ensured that I retained detail and form in the water whilst slightly softening it to have it look easier on the eye. I had to be careful not to leave it too long before getting my shot otherwise the sun would have risen above the pier and made life even more difficult than it already was although I have to praise Canon on finally producing a camera that allows me enough dynamic range to cope with the dark shadow areas whilst holding back the highlights. I am now able with this 5D MK4 to be able to lighten the shadow areas enough and not have colour noise creep in. I'm one happy photographer these days.

This is one of three images I shall share with you all today that were taken yesterday during my long exposure workshop in Blackpool, Cleveleys and St Anne's.
This particular shot is really tricky to nail properly due to the extreme dynamic range between the bright sky and the very dark pier underside. However I have to say that this is a single exposed image and the Canon EOS R has done a fantastic job in capturing the light as I would have liked and in its ability to retain the fine detail that this pier exudes.
I did use a 0.6 medium ND graduated filter on the bottom half of the frame to 'hold back' some of the harsh light of the sky and this did help a little but nonetheless the little Canon continues to impress me.
Have a great Sunday guys and girls, whatever you happen to be doing and I shall share another image later this morning :D

WOW, what a hell of a sunrise I experienced at the magnificent Forth Rail Bridge in Edinburgh on my recent visit to Scotland. I met up with local fellow photographer Gavin Duncan and he very kindly showed me round the Fife coastline, starting with this location down by Port Edgar for sunrise.
I was so lucky with the weather during my five days travelling up from East Lothian and this sunrise was mindblowing. I love the inclusion of the cruise ship on the left hand side of the image and I imagined what those onboard must have witnessed as the boat left port.
I wrote a blog on my travels to Scotland and you can read it here if you wish. www.melvinnicholsonphotography.co.uk/five-day-scotland-ro...

Come and join me on my Six Day Lofoten Photography Workshop 8th-14th February 2019 £1,495
melvinnicholsonphotography.co.uk/product/lofoten-photogra...
This amazing sunrise greeted us on day one of my five day photo tour that I ran in Lofoten this week. This was shot on Monday morning. What a way to start a week wouldn't you agree?
We arrived at Reine pre-dawn and while my clients set up looking over the red Rorbuer fishermen's cabins and the mountainous backdrop, I decided to shoot in the opposite direction towards the sun over the sea for the colour of the sky was absolutely stunning.
Not the easiest shot to get and this is just a single exposure. There is no blending or multiple exposures going on here. The Canon 5D MK4 really is a step up from the MK3, especially when the light is as fierce as it is here.
I seriously enjoyed spending five days discovering Lofoten and I cannot wait to return in February. Fancy joining me? How does six days for just £1,495 sound? Click on the link below for full details.

I spent all of yesterday running a 1-2-1 private tuition day with Danny, a new client of mine and I decided to take him to the Ullswater region of the Lake District. The light and colour throughout the day was just lovely and this shot of the iconic and ever famous boathouse looked stunning against the setting sun.
The Duke of Portland Boathouse is iconic partly because you can actually rent it and stay there overnight. It is beautifully appointed and imagine waking up to the stunning views of Ullswater as you throw open the bedroom doors and head out onto the balcony with a morning paper and a coffee (summer only as it was -6 degrees yesterday morning in the Lake District, brrrr).
I hope you've all had a great Tuesday. Please feel free to SHARE if you wish :D
