A great travel and photography tip is manage your mindset, develop some strategies that work for pushing out negative feelings and see the positive as life will test you in many ways but the only thing you can really control is yourself. My shots of Vilnius were colored by the negative feelings we had before even entering the city, which started when caught in a speed trap that seemed to be subsiding a police retirement fund with cash speeding fines. This shot captures the Baroque Church of St. Catherine built between 1625 -1743 partially destroyed in WW2 then used under Soviets control as a fine arts warehouse and then lately as a symbol of freedom being first church to be restored after independence taking from 1994 to 2006.
I took this on May 18, 2008 with my D70s and Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Lens at 18mm, 1/400s, f10 ISO 200 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia ,Topaz, and DXO Nik

A beautiful day starts with a beautiful mindset. Your thoughts focused on what is good and beautiful. Your mind set to rejoice, enjoy and have fun.
In our westernized mindset and our own human nature we always want to see the whole picture. Now I know many of you like to see the details and I would consider myself to be like that as well, but if we are honest we don't like just seeing glimpses. It is like seeing the trailer to a great movie, you want to see the whole movie not just a short clip. Only seeing glimpses is hard. The lack of patience in our nature begs us to know the whole story plus a little bit of curiosity.
Right now we can only see glimpses of what is to come. Many are afraid of what is ahead and many of us are glad we cannot see the future right now as it frankly feels very scary in the present. However, for those who are in Christ Jesus the current glimpses give us a longing and hope for what is to come. We have only seen in part and what we have seen is truly incredible in and of itself. We have witnessed the saving power of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus, but we will in the future witness the full bore of all the riches of His glory which He will share to His beloved!

Relaxed attentiveness is the perfect mindset for a wildlife photographer, and watching the Black Bears in August reminded me that the same holds true for most wild animals, most of the time. Georgina has made herself comfortable on her favourite rock while waiting for the tide to come in and the salmon to run. Meanwhile, her eyes and nose are on full alert. Will she get lucky today?

When you have a Growth Mindset, you believe that your vote and your voice means something and you raise children to also believe this. And, when you have candidates who don't follow through, you protest and vote them out. This is what we must continue to do. A new America is not just new leadership but a new philosophy on being an active citizen and what it means to stand up for human rights and to have definite opinions on progress and ethics. A new America needs to see the data on climate change and act. A new America needs to support Science and get a safe vaccine out to states as soon as possible. A new America needs to welcome immigrants and support public education again. A new America needs to provide health care to its citizens and put more money into funding communities with proactive mental health than policing its people. A new America needs to end for profit prisons and work actively to end our history of institutionalized racism.
Having a fixed mindset means you become complacent and don't make demands because you think your voice is meaningless. It means you let good people suffer while you watch your country slowly fall apart like a patient with a terminal disease. You hold up your hands, only slightly convinced you could have done better and made a difference. But, you just spend all your days being afraid or angry or lazy or a sad combination of all three.
Which one will you have for the next four years for your country and for the world? How will you fight for human rights? How will you make this world a better place than when you entered it?

After almost two and half years in Arkansas, we finally decided to move mack to Los Angles last year. While planning the move, we thought it would be a great idea to give our daughter her first road trip. It took me almost a month to plan the trip, but I think barring one day, we managed a pretty relaxing drive from the northwest of Arkansas to sunny southern California. The last time I made a cross-country trip, I drove the entire distance without stopping much, and I would not make the same mistake this time.
So, we decided to take a less busy route and visit some of the spectacular locations on the way. I adjusted my mindset to look at this as a scouting trip as we had minimal time to plan and a temperamental two-year-old to manage. Thankfully everything worked out great. Our daughter loved the outdoors and had a blast. Conditions mainly were tremendous, and I had some portfolio-worthy images without much effort.
One of the locations we visited was the beautiful National Wildlife refuge of Bosque Del Apache. Ever since I heard about this beautiful location, it was on my must-visit list, and finally, I had the chance. We were a bit early for the migrant birds, but I didn’t mind it one bit when I saw how beautiful the whole area was. It might be known for its wildlife, but it is not a bad place for a landscape photographer. I came across this stunning location while we were on our self-drive tour. The perfect stillness and rust-colored foliage on the screen just looked perfect. I took a lot of images of the sandhill cranes at the reserve, but this landscape image was my favorite from this beautiful location.
