One of the longer term residents at the Bendigo North workshops, CLF1 is seen there on the 19/4/24 still bearing the damage received in the Rockview derailment 13 months ago.

It is expected that this unit will eventually be scrapped, though it is somewhat surprising that it hasn't been already if that is indeed the decision.

Thanks to an introduction from Ann Willoughby, Rob and I were fortunate to visit Milton at his New York studio in December 2017. The first thing I remember is the size of his hands — his enveloped mine when we shook. He was initially quite curt and formal, as expected from any celebrity who is often accosted by random requests, but warmed up to us as we described Letterform Archive’s mission, and offered to donate some posters. Obviously, I was interested in his typeface designs, and he showed us some boards of his alphabets which were initially used via photostat but later made as proper film and digital fonts. I hope these boards and any original drawings will end up at an archive where someone can research their origins and the contributing designers such as George Leavitt and Michael Doret.

In 1780, Lord Milton, the first Earl of Dorchester decided that the adjacent market town, Middleton, was disturbing his vision of rural peace. He commissioned architect Sir William Chambers and landscape gardener Capability Brown to design a new village, Milton Abbas, in a wooded valley to the south-east of the Abbey in which he lived. Most of the existing villagers were relocated here, and the previous village was demolished.

Milton the Gordon Setter having a wee kip.

He is an extremely lovely boy but so hard to photograph as he is always on the move, I had to sneak up and catch him while he was sleeping under a bush in the garden.

A first for me: A turbostar at Milton Keynes.

This building, owned by Milton and Walter Bernard, was shared with Mirko Ilić whose studio is on the first floor. The gilt inscription on the transom: “Art is Work”.

Isn’t it amazing how ugly something still looks under such a blue sky?

It shows the layout after the provision of Signal 33 and Ground frame release 7 for Abbey Hulton Level Crossing in March 1973.

Ford Green signal box was abolished on Wednesday, 25 August 1976, resulting in signals 4 and 34 being fixed at caution.

1M16 the 2044 Inverness, Fort William and Aberdeen to Euston Caledonian Sleeper made it as far as Milton Keynes Central this morning where it was terminated at 1010 (it should pass MKC at 0706!) being 184 minutes late

The train was not hauled by a class 92 due to some issue at Edinburgh and instead was hauled by 66710 "Phil Packer BRIT" with 67004 Cairngorm offering hotel power.

I understand the train was doubled headed as the 67 was not permitted to haul the train over Beatock alone

At about 1130 92010 arrived form the south, coupled up to the front of the train and I assume took the ECS south to Wembley as 5M16.

That service didnt leave MKC until 12:59 a mere 104 minutes late.

That meant platform 1 at MKC was blocked for nearly three hours!

This home is the former Milton Allen School in Medford, New Jersey. Although it seems to be abandoned now a plaque out front says: "This 1800's House was once a private boarding school run by Milton H. Allen. The next year in 1874 it became Medford's first fully free public school."
