The statue of Mike Schmidt, by Zenos Frudakis of Glenside, Pennsylvania, was erected outside the Third Base gate of Citizens Bank Park in 2004. Frudakis was commissioned to sculpt ten-foot bronze statues of four legendary Philadelphia Phillies for the new park--Steve Carlton sits at the Left Field gate, Robin Roberts sits at the First Base Gate, and Richie Ashburn sits in Ashburn Alley beyond center field.

Mike Schmidt played his entire career, from 1972 through 1989, with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a 3-time NL MVP, 12-time All-Star selection, 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, 6-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and 1980 World Series MVP. After retiring from major league baseball with 548 home runs, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995, and elected as the third baseman on 1999's Major League Baseball All-Century team. The Phillies retired his #20.

For the 4th of July this year I watched the fireworks at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was the view from where I was sitting. I love fireworks! It was a good show.

The MUSS is the student section at University of Utah football games. It is home to 6,000+ of the greatest college football fans in the country and is also known as one of the most intimidating student sections in the country. The MUSS is best known for stopping opposing teams on 3rd down with deafening noise. No one can come play in Rice Eccles Stadium without factoring in how to play against the MUSS as well as the Utes on the field.

Kenny Morley, a student at the University of Utah, always has different face paint for every home football game at Rice-Eccles stadium. He is one of the best football fans I know and is always dedicated to supporting his team from the front row of The MUSS through the good and also the tough times.

It's been one year since Fnaf came out~ Did a little photo shoot for it to practice with my new flashes. :)

As usual, "Video" Dan Stevenson did an outstanding job putting together a really moving video tribute to Harry. Once I dried my eyes, I made sure to grab a shot of all of those greats looking on.

At the beginning of each semester at the University of Utah the fraternity Sigma Gamma Chi puts on a carnival for Rush Week. Each chapter of the fraternity runs some kind of booth or something for people to come enjoy and check out. The Pi chapter of Sigma Gamma Chi has a mechanical bull every semester and it is always a favorite.

The reason I always kill everyone at "1980s Edition Trivial Pursuit" is because I was a sports nut back then, baseball in particular.

I recently found these Topps "3-D" baseball cards in a cigar box in a drawer while looking for something else. These cards are about twice as big as a regular baseball card, plastic with elevated relief like one of those maps at the national parks.

I had quite a tremendous collection of baseball cards back in the day! I collected mainly my favorite players, not necessarily cards that had any high value. So that means I had lots of Ron Cey, and Shawon Dunston cards. I dunno where the rest of them are now. Hopefully my brother's got them.

A group of us went up to my friends yurt for the weekend that is up on the ridge that overlooks Heber Valley, Utah.

The MUSS is always ready to cheer on the Utes at the University of Utah- rain or shine. They were especially loud during the beginning of this game against TCU at Rice Eccles Stadium on Nov. 6th, 2010.

During a vacation to Lake Powell a few years ago a few of us decided to jump of this gigantic, nearly 100ft cliff. We were down there a week and had been eyeing it all week as we rode past it wakeboardiing and tubing behind the boat. Katie, who was with us jokingly said that she would marry the first one who would jump off that cliff before the trip was over. Little did she know that that would lead to a whole bunch of us making the plunge. Four of us did the jump. After seeing us go off, The captain of the boat (my buddy's dad) couldn't resist the urge to jump too, so he did. It was definitely one of the most intense jumps i have ever done. It Was Awesome!! :)

Mike Schmidt - Five Nights at Freddys

Mike Schmidt - Five Nights at Freddys

I began Day 4 of SXSW 2014 with another 9:30am SXSW Interactive session -- If Content Is King, Who Is Sheriff? -- at the Austin Convention Center. The panel was hosted by Gail Marie of McKinney; Kristina Eastham of Digitaria Interactive; Mike Schmidt of National Geographic; and Robert Hernandez of USC Annenberg. I snapped a few shots of some of the slides that intrigued me; this one posed the question of who holds the content rights to ''selfie'' portraits like this one, which was actually taken by a lemur. (You can view more of the slides -- although not the complete presentation -- at SlideShare.)
